December 12, 201014 yr It's pretty good - Anyone know how much Chasing Lights and Wordshaker had sold at this point? After 17 weeks on sale Headlines! - 122,000 (low estimate) Chasing Lights - 161,787 Wordshaker - 60,000+ (sorry; just an estimate) Edited December 13, 201014 yr by IfUSeeBritney
December 13, 201014 yr Chasing Lights had another single out though, The sats should have released another single.. not caring about the peak.
December 13, 201014 yr Author I just posted this over on PopJustice. What do you think? --- We can't really judge sales for Headlines too much because we don't know for certain if the 90k of people who baught Wordshaker didn't want to buy Headlines because they had half the album anyway and perhaps just cherry picked Missing You and Higher from Headlines instead. Wordshaker + Headlines has done around 200k in total which is alright but isn't great because that tells us they've lost 130k fans/jelly beans/whatever since Chasing Lights since that sold 330k. Again if you combine both Wordshaker and Headlines era together they've sold around 1.05m records and that's with 4 singles, and two albums (1 of them technically a re-release). The whole of the Chasing Lights era however did 1.3m with 5 singles and 1 album. If they'd of perhaps just done one more single and got alot of radio support (like with Missing You which was #1 on airplay for 2 weeks unbelievably...) they could of levelled the era figures out a bit... In 2009 they sold 1.2m records with 4 singles (Issues, Just Can't Get Enough, Work and Forever Is Over) + adition single cross-over sales from If This Is Love (2008), Up (2008) and Ego (2010). They also released 1 album (Wordshaker) + over 200k cross-over sales from their 2008's debut Chasing Lights. In 2010 they've sold 0.84m so far; However this is a loss of so far 270k sales compared with 2009 sales figures. The 0.84m approx figure comes from 3 singles (Ego, Missing You and Higher) + additional single cross-over sales from Forever Is Over (2009). They also released 1 album (Headlines) + just 35k album cross-over sales from 2009's Wordshaker and a further 30k in sales for the 2008 debut Chasing Lights. You can see that if Wordshaker had sold another 200k in cross-over sales this year from last years release the figures for this year would be pretty close to the 2009 figures and the Wordshaker/Headlines era figures too. More losses this year also come from less cross-over single sales compared to 2009's cross-overs If This Is Love, Up and Ego (which sold 44k in the remainder of 2009). In 2009 there was a total of 463k approx of cross-over sales (single and album sales combined) and a total of 81k in cross-over sales (single and album sales combined) which is over a 75% decrease compared to the 2009 cross-over sales. To sum up: Chasing Lights era sales: 1.3m Wordshaker era sales: 0.5m Headlines era sales: 0.5m Wordshaker / Headlines era sales: 1m 2009 sales: 0.74m 2009 cross-over sales: 0.46m 2009 total sales: 1.2m 2010 sales: 0.77m 2010 cross-over sales: 0.08m 2010 total sales: 0.8m I hope that these figures are useful as It took me hours putting them all together a 2 weeks ago - and I hope it shows you that they're not at a huge loss compared to their current sales peak in 2009. All figures are of course approx. Read more: http://www.popjustice.com/forum/index.php?...5#ixzz180XeMk3z
