I still think it will eventually reach 200,000 copies sold; as long as it may take :)

200,000 sales would great; I do wonder why they're not considering another single, obviously we haven't had any confirmation that there won't be one but they're pretty damn stupid to not release a third single; they could get another platinum album here.

The potential is deffinately there for this to keep on selling in the long run - it is following in the footsteps of Chasing Lights at the moment. This time 2 years ago (where has the time gone?) they were releasing Issues and that helped Chasing Lights fly back up the charts from being in the #80's over the end of 2008, back into the Top 40 (over a period of two weeks) and about to reach a new peak of #9. Chasing Lights did that with just a single.

The strange thing is, look at this..

Chasing Lights:

09. 28/12 - #87 - 8,405

10. 04/01 - #63 - 6,730

Headlines:

19. 26/12 - #87 - 06,000*

20. 02/01 - #43 - 09,000* (Sales Increase)

Headlines manages to rocket up the chart by moving up 44 places with a sales increase. Chasing Lights on the other hand jumps 24 places with no sales increase, and Chasing Lights had an single coming out the week after too! The data also tells us that sales this time two years ago (both releases on an #87 positon) were much stronger compared to today. If Chasing Lights can do what it did with Issues, who's to say Headlines can't do a better job without another single? However the longetivity of the album will be down to the fact if there is another single or some sort of promotional scheme that pushes Headlines futher down the publics throat.

This headline campaign is a joke where i live (Dundee)

Headlines is in Hmv, There was one copy left for the 2 for £10 with about £30 of them being £8.. i asked him how much it was and if i could get a 2 for £10 deal.. he said no because it's £8

My current asda and tesco are not stocking headlines either.

...yet all shops heavily stock wanted album, oh well.

May I say grow up Lee, this Headlines! campaign has been brilliant and done amazing for what it is. The reason why Headlines! isn't in supermarkets is because it isn't a chart album atm and isn't a classic/well selling album. You need to get over the fact that The Wanted are doing as well as they are, they have nothing to do with The Saturdays and there is no reason to compare them. The reason they are in the sales is because they have probably made enough money from this campaign to lower the dealer price which would entice the shops to put it on offer so they can still make money/not lose to much money.

Now can we look to the future rather than the past.

No You May Not Say That. I'm just saying My opinion. How dare of me to do so on this board. I'm annoyed for many reasons today not for that at all for the saturdays haha!.

Im not saying this campaign is a joke, i may how things are now. llf.

Well in Lee's defence it is frustrating and hard for some of us fans to appreciate that the Wanted have released two singles, had an X Factor slot and seem to be managed slightly better and also come from a non-talent show background. Yes, the Headlines! campaign has been far more successful than the Wordshaker one, but management have arguably missed potential oppertunitys to increase sales. (yes they have had an increase, but several additional factors could have increased this further).

The Wanted are doing better because they are a boy band, they are in right now and when they are in they tend to be much bigger than girl bands when they are in because of teenage girls. Hence for them being on x factor to get the show more teenage girl viewers, which is what Simon would have wanted to try and get One Direction more fans.
'Headlines!' is #57 on the hmv chart, after being absent for god knows how long :)
#57, that's good news.. It seems to be climbing. Maybe their tour will help it back onto more markets in shops. Really hope it re-enters the top 40 this week.

It wasn't in the Top 40 mids so I doubt it. Album sales with dip further this week.

I hope maybe this week it's on around 159k + as they managed to get past 150k last week?

Quite annoying to know it's definately on it's way out now that Xmas is over and there's simply no reason that people will want to buy it.

I'm still hoping it will reach 175K, though.

Tbh i can't see Headlines reaching 200k anytime soon unless they promote it.

However Headlines will double wordshaker sales!

It has been quite successful, Brilliant consedering the flop of Wordshaker.

I wonder why it climbed. :o

22 weeks top 100 now. :D Wordshaker had 9 and Chasing Lights had 48, btw.

Chasing Lights had 48? Headlines nearly halfway!

No sales increase however despite its climb
