January 16, 201114 yr Chasing Lights had 48? Headlines nearly halfway! No sales increase however despite its climb http://www.chartstats.com/release.php?release=47909 Most of it's run was between #40 - #100, though.
January 16, 201114 yr Author I wonder if Headlines will manage to beat that, hmm. In other news, #49 sold in the region of 4.1k so they may have only done 4k for #51 this week compared to last weeks 4.7k at #59. Ouch.
January 16, 201114 yr Yeah, sales are dire. :( It'll take a long time for them to reach 175K. They'd need to stay top 75 for another month to make it.
January 21, 201114 yr They are in Berlin right now, in a meeting with their German label...Europe here they come!
January 21, 201114 yr They are in Berlin right now, in a meeting with their German label...Europe here they come! Wow are they attempting to crack Europe or just Germany ? I hope it goes well for them
January 21, 201114 yr Frankie said they were going to visit some countries so I expect them to promote in Germany and other countries of the north half...at least. I think Germany is with France the most important market in Europe besides the UK, so it will be a big deal for them if they succeed there.
January 21, 201114 yr Least they have a label in Germany that's going to be good news. :) if you break europen markets that always helps you in the uk as people who go on holiday hear it more and more. Waka Waka for example .
January 23, 201114 yr #58! That's good! Hope during their tour they could re-enter the top 40! Edited January 23, 201114 yr by lee wallace
January 23, 201114 yr Author I think/hope it'll just have moderate drops of 6-7 places per week which could mean a possibilty of maybe 2 months in the chart. But a dire amount of around just 15k sales. This could bring totals up to around 170k. This is not taking the Headlines tour and any other televised appearances they may do into account. As for Higher, GOD KNOWS. Edited January 25, 201114 yr by 2ndAdventure
January 23, 201114 yr The album is doing much better than expected. A much higher peak than expected (I said #5), much better sales (I said 100K max) and a decent chart run (expected about four weeks top 40). The fact it's still selling even though 'Higher' was released three months ago is just amazing. :D Every sale now is just bonus.
January 23, 201114 yr Author Every sale now is just bonus. And hopefully they'll put it to good use for the next album!
January 23, 201114 yr I bought this the other day. I was a massive fan of Chasing Lights, thought Wordshaker was absolute dire, like an album full of bsides from various artists, but after falling in love with Missing You and Higher I decided to give it a go and I was impressed. There was a real sense of identity, which I didn't think there would be, Karma, Puppet etc were the kind of songs they should be doing, and even Died In Your Eyes was great. The only songs I didn't like were One Shot, Forever Is Over and Lose Control.
January 24, 201114 yr Author Urgh. Possible lowest sales week for Headlines yet. A lower estimate than before of 3k now lies at around 02,900 after #55 this week did 03,073. Headlines charted at #58 this week. It's lowest sales prior this week were at 03,154 (#66) on 07/11/2010. I've selected all 3 of their albums, with similar chart positions (#57-#66) in the month of November from each of their release year (Chasing Lights 2008, Wordshaker 2009 and Headlines 2010). Look at how album sales have declined over the past 3 years, ouch. What's in store for 2011? ITEM / WK / DATE / # / SALES Chasing Lights - 04 - 23/11/08 - #59 - 06,051 Wordshaker - 03 - 01/11/09 - #57 - 04,080 Headlines - 12 - 07/11/10 - #66 - 03,154 Sales to take a turn for the worse in 2011? Headlines - 23 - 23/01/11 - #58 - 02,900* *Estimated sales Sigh. The only songs I didn't like were One Shot, Forever Is Over and Lose Control. No suprise since they were from the album we speak no more of now  Edited January 24, 201114 yr by 2ndAdventure

January 24, 201114 yr Author in all fairness, Wordshaker was still in its first month on the chart, whereas Headlines first charted six months ago! I think you misunderstood, It wasn't supposed to show you how well the sales are doing after ex amount of weeks, it's to show how sales have declined over the past 3 years.
January 29, 201114 yr Why is this still £6.49 on Amazon? Olly Murs' album is £4.99 and it's only been out two months. A simple price cut could easily get it up to 175K sales quicker.
January 29, 201114 yr http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/17286072/H...bMusic+CD%7d%2b £3.99 On Play.Com.
January 30, 201114 yr Author #66 this week. Down 8. It's Headlines seccond week at #66 in it's 24-week chart run. The last time it was at #66 was on the 07th November 2010 with 03,154 sales. Last week they were lucky to even scrape 3k at #58 (that's 8 places higher than #66 but lower sales). A further tumble in sales? Ouch. Edited January 30, 201114 yr by 2ndAdventure
