June 23, 201015 yr Yikes trust USA to score in the end, anyhow great result in the end, better game than the previous 2 would have been better with a second goal, and did you know they went thru 4 years ago when they played in red. :o I hope we get Ghana or Germany in the final 16, the game tonight is worth watching. And England are the first European team to go thru :o
June 23, 201015 yr congrats England :cheer: posible oponent in the next round is Germany :o if they win tonight :drama:
June 23, 201015 yr f***. USA 1-0 Algeria. Runners up we come. I knew his tactics of playing for 1-0 was risky as hell. To be fair we were as immense today, as we were woeful on Friday. I've certainly seen dozens of less one sided 3-0's & 4-0's just that our luck was not with us today. But hopefully we are storing it up for the knock out stages. OK so we have fallen into the harder side of the draw, so if results go to form its Germany (Last 16); Argentina (Last 8) & Spain (Semi's). Bring it on........
June 23, 201015 yr Netherlands were the first European team to progress. Nope.. Japan win, and Denmark win 4-0 ... Netherlands are out. Mathematically, England are the first through. Edited June 23, 201015 yr by Robot
June 23, 201015 yr Yes, but Japan and Denmark are playing each other, so it's impossible for both to win.

If Germany don't beat us then the Argies sure will. Capello may as well book the plane....
June 23, 201015 yr If we play Germany on Sunday(27th), it will be almost 14 years to the day that we lost to germany 6-5 on Penalties in Euro 96 on 28 Jun :o Lets hope history doesnt repeat :(
June 23, 201015 yr Nope.. Japan win, and Denmark win 4-0 ... Netherlands are out. Mathematically, England are the first through. Japan are playing Denmark :P
June 23, 201015 yr Author Who we play is irrelevant. If you want to win then you've got to beat the best teams. I'm not a huge fan of England, but today I really showed an interest in them as they looked like they cared and we did actually look GOOD. Serbia, Germany or Ghana...I couldn't care less!
June 23, 201015 yr If the Germany match remains 0-0 looks like England will be playing Ghana, England might get thru to the last 8 with Argentina or Mexico... wishful thinking.
June 23, 201015 yr If the England v Germany match goes to penalties, which 5 players do you think should take one? And which English Player would give you the wobbles if he takes a spot kick?
June 23, 201015 yr If the England v Germany match goes to penalties, which 5 players do you think should take one? And which English Player would give you the wobbles if he takes a spot kick? Answer: It does not matter as England such start the coach to get to the plane to fly us home ....... However, Germany are beatable IMHO inside 90 or 120 minutes.
June 23, 201015 yr Germany now and if England pass them Argentina will be most possibly next. Tough already. Btw, I saw one match with Argentina, they looked GOOD on the field. But, as Rooney said, if you want to win you will really have to play with the strongest teams.
June 24, 201015 yr I saw quite a lot of people moaning that Milner was starting and not Lennon, there's no way that Lennon (or SWP for that matter) would've crossed as consistantly well as Milner did yesterday, brilliant performance from him.
June 24, 201015 yr We have the penalty taking ability to win a shootout I think. Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Defoe and Milner all take penalties for their clubs (or have done in the not too distant past). A. Cole, Rooney, Carragher and Terry aren't bad either (Terry will want to make amends for the Champions League in Stuart Pearce fashion) and Joe Hart can take a penalty too, not really sure what his record is of saving them though....
June 24, 201015 yr I think the Germans are beatable, England just have to up their game, to be honest I'm glad they got Germany instead of Ghana as it gives them more ambition to attack which they lack, if we pass to the last eight, we might have to face Argentina and the bargies are pretty fierce. Its a shame we are in the wrong pool now England could have had an easy ride if they scored another goal.
