June 24, 201015 yr Apparently Fabio already knows his penalty takers! I still trust Lamps despite his recent misses. Not sure about Carragher after his miss at the last World Cup and what he said about it as well. (apparently he took one due to Tord Grip's flawed research that he took one in Istanbul) Rooney I hope he can take the pressure, he has a habit of scoring the rebound for us which isn't useful in a shootout.
June 24, 201015 yr I think the Germans are beatable, England just have to up their game, to be honest I'm glad they got Germany instead of Ghana as it gives them more ambition to attack which they lack, if we pass to the last eight, we might have to face Argentina and the bargies are pretty fierce. Its a shame we are in the wrong pool now England could have had an easy ride if they scored another goal. If I understand goal differential rightly, England would have needed to best Slovenia 4-0, since US won as well.....seeing as the US squad wound up scoring 4 goals as it was.....then again, I could very well be wrong.....

No we only would have needed to score one more goal. The scores for each team were England 1-1 USA USA 2-2 Slovenia England 0-0 Algeria England 1-0 Slovenia USA 1-0 Algeria USA: Goals scored: 4 Goals against: 3 Goal difference +1 England: Goals scored: 2 Goals against: 1 Goal difference: +1 The goal difference was exactly the same for both of them so USA won the group on goals scored which comes into play if the goal difference is the same. If England had scored one more goal then their goal difference would have been +2 thus they would have won the group.

He then bottled it...
June 24, 201015 yr Germany have already missed a penalty in this World Cup so they probably won't miss another one for at least ten years :(

Thanks for setting me to rights, Grandwicky.....for I did become mildly confused....
