So we got a preview of 'Missing You' yesterday, that is produced by Taio Cruz.

It sounds really good and quite commercial, but like a lot of the stuff that's out there now.

Then at Signal 1's 2010 live, they premiered a new song 'Higher':

Do you think this could be a case of deja vu? Are management playing with fire yet again?

Forever is Over had by far the biggest producers on Wordshaker and many felt it was the worst song on the album.

Have they gone with 'Missing You' over 'Higher' because of the Taio Cruz connection? Granted, we don't know who produced 'Higher'.

But judging from the 30 second clip and that video of Higher, I think they've chosen wrong again!!

While I really like that, I think we have to save judgement for when we fully hear Missing You. Also I think Higher sounds like it's produced by Taio as well.

Well like I said, judging from the 30 second clip and the full thing of 'Higher'..

But yes, this time next week we will know for sure.

Gotta say I think Higher sounds very good, obviously like you both say I dont think fully judgement should be made until Missing You is heard in full. Fro the preview, Missing You sounds painfully average but so did Here Standiing when we heard a preview on the album megamix.
I think it's good for them to release a ballad as well. I think they should have released Here Standing in April and then come back with a whole new album October time.
This sounds amazingly good, an album full of songs this good please. Although please let mollie sing :P

no surprises that i think its rubbish, as was that performance.

have they got it wrong again asks scherz... well if its a defining track they are after, their signature track, then yes. itll appeal to the fans and the fans only.

the sats have been managed appalingly... they need a houshold track that they are known for... maybe 'up' and 'just cant get enough' were along those lines but still didnt quite make it.

It's basically Taio's produced version of 'Ego' (I'm assuming it's Taio as the producer seeing as it sounds very Taio-y :heehee:) It has potential. Can't wait to hear HQ studio of it though. I think you could be right too, in the whole the follow-up being better than the lead :( The thing that annoys me, is FIO and MY won't be so bad, if they weren't the tracks leading the albums! :drama:
Higher is dire (rhymage) in my opinion. Shows no progression in sound at all from the first album. Missing You sounds different to what they've done but nothing spectacular. These girls need to start getting some better writers/producers because their single titles are so boring and uninspiring. Issues, Up, Work, Ego, Here Standing, Lose Control, Open Up, Denial, Fall are so mind numbingly boring.
Is this the same Higher that Taio Cruz also has as recent song? (I guess not, but 2 songs with the same name from him.. coincidence?).

OMG GTFO. If I could warn you I would :P

The single titles are boring? How exactly is that even remotely relevant to the quality of the songs though?

Because if the subject of the song is dull and uninspiring then the lyrics aren't going to set the world alight (or at least in the case of The Saturdays). If you look at Sound of the Underground, Life Got Cold, The Loving Kind, The Show, Somethin Kinda Ooh, Can't Speak French etc are all intriguing and in turn interest people, whereas Up, Work, Issues etc not so much.

All I'm saying is that their songs are good, but they could be so much better if they worked with different/better people.

I see where you're coming from here but I cant say I agree. I dont think most people really care what the song title is, sure The Sats havent had the most exiting of song titles but I dont really think that's had any sort of effect on their sales or popularity.
Oh fair enough :P I'd just love it if they came out with something really different and outside the box.

LOL WTF! I'm sorry but people will not snub a song because it's got an, in your opinion, bland title.

Songs can have amazing titles and yet be complete sh!t, so you're talking nonsense!

And as for thinking outside the box.. let's not forget who we're talking about here.

I love them to death, but they are a manufactured girlband. They stay inside the mould, that's why it works.

What like "Once" pffft..... (I know im a bitch) ;) :D

Higher sounds ok but definitely not lead single material. Can't judge Missing You yet until we hear the full thing.

didnt you read this bit? fxckingfamous qualified what he said perfectly clearly

and he is SPOT ON the mark. ok the title itself MIGHT not reprisent the content of the track, but compareing the sats lyrics with girls alouds in this case it does. those girls aloud tracks are far better in every way then the sats, who again are not progressing and churning out the same old music (as was said).

fans might accept this but again the public wont, and their fanbase isnt big enough to carry them through, so staying inside the mould isnt working. after three years they havnt got the appeal nor success that girls aloud gained, ok i was wrong in suggesting theyd be dropped by now, but tbh its only a question of time if they dont progress.
