I can't wait for the 22nd August music-wise! Watching Shontelle's 'Impossible' and AB's 'Don't Let Me Start Without You' rocket up the chart. ^_^

I actually bought Beat Again :snif:... and Umbrella.

:o I never thought I'd see you say that

& Maybe I'm just hearing things.. but I thought Alexandra says "Dont Make Me Start Without You" at the beggining ?

91. Rescue Me (Radio Edit) - Skepta

111. I Like It (feat. Pitbull) - Enrique Iglesias

221. Chica Bomb (UK Radio Edit) - Dan Balan

345. The Club Is Alive (In the style of JLS) - 2010s Karaoke Band

If JLS weren't one of Simon Cowell's own, I'd suspect him of being behind this (not to mention the other rip-off covers). :)

The point that many people here don't like JLS or their new single is irrelevant, the charts are based on what people buy and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference if a few dozen people in the country don't like the song, if 1 in 600 people buy it, it's pretty much guaranteed #1. Fact is that the demographic of this forum has far more Kylie fans than JLS fans proporionate to the number that there are in the whole country. Just looking at the two acts' recent chart history basically confirms that one is far more certain of a #1 than the other.

Ah, but will JLS still be around in 20 years? Somehow I very much doubt it...

JLS will get to Number 1..No question.

HUGE fanbase and I know loads of people that like it.

I reckon it could possibly be the worst number 1 this year!

Admittedly I haven't heard it yet (though if it's like their previous stuff...), but it already has some stiff competition!

Considering in 20 years they would be 42 - 45.. I very much doubt they will still be together

Kylie is massively popular, but that popularity doesn't seem to translate into singles sales these days.

All of the lovers is going to be Kylies best selling single in the UK for years so where you getting that from

You miss the point entirely. I'm not defending JLS in the slightest, I don't paricularly like either act I was just making the point that this forum is no way of judging the success of a song.

love your sig and also i did not know impossible was going to be a single i hope she promotes it i hope it goes top 20 at least

Skepta's easily the best of the new releases, so I'm glad it's the highest, it's still not very high though, hope it can go at least top 10.

So far his singles have all improved a lot on the chart position of the previous one:

Rolex Sweep #86

Sunglasses At Night #64

Bad Boy #26

Rescue Me top 10?

Not even heard 'Rescue Me'. There's all this grime/urban/dance esque music coming out at the moment that's doing really well and I'm totally oblivious to it :o [Flop music geek I is :/].

Katy has an easy 2nd week I guess unless England somehow manage to win today and there's a huge surge in football song downloadage.

I'm a little surprised Skepta isn't absolutely massive - he was among the 'founders' of grime alongside artists like Wiley and Dizzee Rascal but has never had the chart success to prove it.

But yeah, Skepta doesn't get anywhere near the amount of 'recognition' as some other UK urban acts so it's not surprising you haven't heard of him/the song.

Also, I still wouldn't totally rule out K'naan surpassing Katy's lead to go to #1 - I know that's really unlikely but it could still happen

Edited by Bray

^^^ It may happen if they win Bray. But I can see the football songs dropping horribly if not. K'naan will probably suffer the least as it's not directly related to England but I think it's #1 chances will be gone if they lose.
I hope K'naan continues to whittle awya at Katy's lead, hoping that if we win today he'll get caught up in the rush to download Shout/Three Lions/World In Motion/Vindaloo and can pull ahead by Wednesday. "Airplanes", "Closer to the Edge" and "Careful" aren't rising quickly enough either :(

But from the increase in the size of the singles market you'd expect that *anyway*, but from the reception she gets on TV appearances, you'd think her sales would squash K'naan etc like a bug...
