On the day the young Germans are the better side. England fans can't argue with that. Even Radio 5 Live saying that a neutral would say they deserve to win the match.

Overall though it has to be said, England performance in this world cup has been sh!te, bar Dedoes goal.

We don't have one.

 

Terry and Upson have quite frankly been useless. Johnson and Cole have been exposed and out of position all game and there's been little tracking back from the midfield. We lack pace severly in the central defence.

Capello should resign tomorrow. He's hopeless.

I'm not annoyed anymore, with the score, nothing. Just embarrassed, truly and utterly embarrassed to be English right now. I've thrown my support to England (as IMO, any Englishmen should) throughout the whole competition, really got behind the side, and thought...MAYBE just MAYBE we could actually make something of this World Cup - and do decently.

 

And...I really don't think we should sack Fabio Capello. Whatever formation he may choose, the players should still be able to control the ball, maybe play like Premier League footballers...it's the players that are truly atrocious.

I completely agree that England have been crap throughout the World Cup whilst other countries - particularly Slovenia proving that when they play, they play to win. Sometimes I can't say that for England - it often feels like they have a "do we have to play this match?" attitude.

 

As fiesta posted, even if the second goal was allowed we'd be 4-2 down. Germany have been the better side. -_- There's no way England will score 3 goals now in 10 minutes. Even if we did, it'd go to penalties and that'd confirm Germany go through. :rolleyes:

Capello should not resign. Fact is our team is a bunch of has-beens. 2006 was meant to be England's year, and it was the best oppotunity England had to win a World Cup. Our defence is hopeless, our midfield is highly unbalanced and our strike force is extremely weak. Gerrard and Lampard have always been Liverpool and Chelsea's best players for years yet they fail to shine for England. Our squad is aging, and we've never been brilliant really.

 

We have the likes of Johnson, Hart, Agbonlahor, Milner, Rooney, Kelly, Wilshere etc. who are still young and will be in the next crop of England players at 2014 (if we qualify). The England team have failed to show up, and imo, we have too many 'superstars' and too much is expected of us.

Fabio is the one who decides where the players play on the pitch. He totally screwed up England Vs Algeria hence why we played so badly. The players weren't playing in their proper positions. It's a wonder he didn't have the goalkeeper playing midfield. :rolleyes:
