I think (and hope) that James, Carragher and Heskey have played their last England matches now. Time to bring in some fresh blood. Johnson, Cahill, Hart, Agnoblahor, Wilshire, Shawcross, Young, Moses, Rodwell, Gibbs...

What's the difference between me and the England team?

I've never been raped by 11 Germans.

What have I got in common with the England team?

We're both $h!t at football and going out tonight.

Fabio Capello absolutely SHOULDN'T resign. I can't stand this deluded mentality of placing all the blame with the manager, as if our largely-hopeless will somehow put in their best performances the moment we get somebody else in...

I do hope though that our disallowed goal and the furore over it puts some proper pressure on FIFA to evaluate the rules. Their president is literally the only person still against a change.

He picked the wrong players and put them in the wrong positions...

Yeah that might work. Drop three players and rep[lace them with ten. Unfortunately even a Uruguayan official might spot that

The England team have failed to show up, and imo, we have too many 'superstars' and too much is expected of us.

Why the hell can brazil, argentina, netherlands, etc

Get all their Superstars to tick?

and we can't ?

Edited by Jez

Neither did James. :naughty:

Argentina are the only team with a 'superstar', and that's Messi. Messi looks pretty ordinary in the Argentina team, when watching them play, he argubaly plays much better for Barcelona. The same goes for Kaka as well with Brazil, he's looked ordinary of late...but then again he has all season!

Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney are three renowned names throughout world football and all three have had shocking World Cups.

Sweet victory and unbelievable revenge for Wembley 1966 and Munich 2001 in one and the same game!

Maybe England will win the cup (better "a" cup) when they play at home again... :P

Am I the only one who finds it ironic how Germans (I should add they are my second team due to family heritage, so I will now be supporting them) harp on about 1966, yet always fail to mention their second goal near the end of 90 minutes should never have counted. So the 1966 WC Final should have finished 2-1 to England.

I still think Brazil will win the World Cup. But I fear England are going to go into a decline like Scotland did, and France & Italy are starting to suffer from because they have to many foreigners playing in their own top flight leagues. I honestly believe we will struggle to qualify for the 2014 World Cup with their being no obvious like for like quality replacement for Beckham; Gerrard; Lampard; Terry; Ashley Cole & Ferdinand at their peaks.

Whilst the FA really needs to look at the structure of Youth Football and below, because the technique of English footballers is quite simply not good enough at this highest level.

This is exactly why Capello in his press conference implied that the English national side does not process the intelligence and technique to adapt to different systems and that is why he settled on a 4-4-2 set up because he felt this is what England could do best and were most effective at; and Fabio's record in club management is second to very few, and strongly he suggests he knows what he is talking about.

We'll never win anything with a plain 4-4-2 formation.

This debate that we have too many foreigners is stupid. The top teams are a lot better at including English players and we DO HAVE good english players, the problem lies at grass route level. The simple fact is that players are coached too much, and it takes away all their raw talent and technicality.

FIFA are reported to be "unhappy" about the booing by English fans of the German national anthem. Rightly so. I noticed that and it was very disrespectful.
