But yes. Two questions: whether or not we should keep the one big final format permanently or return to the semi-finals format permanently; and whether or not we should keep the new 15-song '18,15,13' voting system or go back to the standard 10-song '12,10,8' voting system if we did go back to the semi-finals format with 30 songs in a final as opposed to 50 or so.

 

The one big final format requires at least a 55% majority in order to go ahead in order to avoid alienation if it does turn out to still be ridiculously contentious.

I've stopped flopping and i am certain that if we had semis I'd have not even gone through the semis both of the times. And fan/indie points get me as high as Top 10 in the Final. PERFECT. :w00t:

For a few reasons...

- There are SO MANY songs to compare against each other, that i feel i can't compare accurately enough against. :(

- I forget songs after listening to a load after them so can't really discuss the songs i have listened to.

- This puts me off discussion in general on the BJSC section...

- Which i think is reflective of most people...conversation was considerably down on last contest...

- I like the competition of the semis, the fact that i know i need to qualify to stay in the contest.

- 16 Pages in the final thread is a bit of a flop tbh.

 

And for the old points system...it seems a tad ridiculous awarding 15 points scorers out of 28/29 songs...that's more than half :P

Semi finals, old points system. Maybe it's just because I like associating it with the Eurovision, but the massive leaderboard last night just looked a bit blehhh. :( I'd rather all the dirge was removed earlier, like the ESC.

I'm not going to bother getting back into this debate again, but I find a few things a bit ridiculous, for example; the big final format has to get more than 55% and the claims of inactivity...

 

Yeah, the claims of inactivity are indeed ridiculous if most of the people complaining about it didn't bother to be active in the last 2 weeks anyway. :lol:

Indeed! I'd bet anything that it'll be exactly like that if semis get back...

Admittadley this contest has swung me around to the new system a bit, to the point I wouldnt leave if it stayed, but I still find that two week gap a bit boring. And I dont care what y'all say, it is harder to listen and compare 49 songs in one go.

Semis back, but with the new scoring system. Partly because I love to be different :kink:, partly because although I like being able to reward more songs with points, I just dont have time to repeatedly listen to 40+ songs. I would say that I heard these songs 4 times at most in the last contest, whereas I used to listen to my semi and the final a good 10 times before I voted. It's just not possible to do that anymore.

I do have enough time to listen to them all.

 

but I'm not a hardcore listener....I'm more casual and 40+ songs is breaking the boundaries of casual for me and just starts becoming uncomfortable.

 

I'm not one of those people who could listen to 100+ songs in a day easily :nocheer:

See, I kind of am, I commute a lot, but since the new format I just haven't had the motivation :( Plus I like actually get out now and again?

Guhhhh... I won't be starting on the whole system of listening I use again though, i said all that in the previous topic.
