August 11, 201113 yr Sorry to bump such an old topic but for some reason Wonderful Life has been B-listed again on Radio 2? Anyone know why? The album did re-enter the midweek top 40 last week, but I expect there's more to it than that.
August 11, 201113 yr I thought it was being pushed as a single again? At least I recall reading that somewhere recently...
August 11, 201113 yr Really? I think the ship has sailed on that one. GIVE US EVELYN OR GIVE US DEATH
August 11, 201113 yr I guessed it was (another) re-release, doubt it will do much this time either unless it gets used on The X Factor or something.
August 11, 201113 yr I guessed it was (another) re-release, doubt it will do much this time either unless it gets used on The X Factor or something. In our DREAMS! I guess there's no harm pushing this again if it's still going to get airplay (better if it was R1 though!)
August 11, 201113 yr Why are they attempting to push Wonderful Life again? PUSH STAY FOR GOODNESS SAKE
August 11, 201113 yr Why are they attempting to push Wonderful Life again? PUSH STAY FOR GOODNESS SAKE They're both very good songs but I agree that Stay would probably have been a better choice. Either that or Illuminated - maybe including the Glastonbury performance. I suppose it's one last throw of the dice at a time when the singles market os fairly quiet before moving on to the second album.
August 11, 201113 yr Illuminated is bloody amazing - I like Sunday and Wonderful Life too. The rest leave me cold. Edited August 11, 201113 yr by tonyttt31
August 11, 201113 yr Stay should have been huge. Such an anthem. WL is wonderful too, but it's already been as big as it's ever going to be.
August 11, 201113 yr I was surprised they didn't push Illuminated as 3rd single, it charted quite highly on album release week (#68). Plus it's my 2nd favourite behind Wonderful Life so I would have been much happier to see it get a proper video.
August 12, 201113 yr It was released as a double A side with Better Than Love in May. A complete all expense spared single release though, it just had a live video of a YEAR OLD performance.
August 12, 201113 yr They fucked this whole project up in such an unbelievable way, 'Illuminated' should've followed 'Wonderful Life' last year but they waited a further two flop/pointless singles to even consider it. :manson: Pushing 'Wonderful Life' again when as someone said it's been as big as it's ever going to be is simply baffling. I honestly don't believe the people behind this campaign had a clue what they were doing. Still a bit gutted that Evelyn didn't see the light of day though. Though I would have preferred The Water but that's definitely not single material. I wish they'd just move on to their second album now. It's shocking that this album was released less than a year ago it seems like forever!

Illuminated is divine. Great band and HURTS are fabulous live..... great, great live show.
November 5, 201113 yr Saw them live again last night (seventh time ) and it was the last night of the tour so they went all out, including a very special guest... http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/387808_2496113918742_1129655882_32929715_1348362253_n.jpg That's Kylie Minogue if you can't make out. AFAIK they have never performed Devotion or Confide In Me together on stage, but they did both last night :D In a way now I'm glad the madness is over though, so they can get back in the studio and work on an amazing second album (Happiness was rereleased this week with a DVD, but it doesn't look like going anywhere near the top 40 :()
November 5, 201113 yr It amazes me that we have such great British acts like Hurts who struggle to make any impact on the British public, yet they're easily one of the most successful British exports in so many other countries. Proof that UK media really do make or break artists before their career has even started. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the UK who would like Hurts' music but they've just never heard it.
November 5, 201113 yr It's true, although Radio 1 did give them a fair amount of airplay up to and including Stay and Radio 2 has supported them all the way. Trouble is they're just a visual band, so theatrical, and you really need to SEE them to fall in love with them. If Top Of The Pops still existed they would probably be the biggest band in the world.
