Been watching this on and off. On My Own and Better Or Worse have both gone through to MF. Like I said before, On My Own was my favourite and Better Or Worse will probably be a lot better once polished up, because it was a HELL of a lot better live seeing as I could actually hear her clearly over the track!

Thank god the punk rock and cod-reggae thing didn't progress, that would have been two write off's straight away. These two songs at least have a chance to go to Andra Chansen, and On My Own has an outside shot at the final - it's simple and memorable and he seems likeable.

Yep, I can actually vaguely see On My Own at Eurovision at the moment :o With the right staging and everything. Sweden seems to love young singers, and sometimes roots for the underdog like we do. I'm not in love with it by any means, and I still think Better Or Worse is much better, though agreed it needs production work...

Malena, Charlotte, Carola, Lena, Roger - I'd have said they preferred the slightly more mature singer usually for ESC!

Jonas Matsson - On My Own - Very Jason Mraz (like rich already pointed out) Tom Dice did very good with this kind of song, but I cannot see it represent Sweden. 8/10

Billy - Tusen Nätter - This sounds like something from Junior ESC  I was a little dissepointed, I hoped for a Swedish ballad by a female when I saw the song title :( 0/10

Julia Alvgard - Better Or Worse - I quite like this, the chours is catchy. I hope to see this in the final 9.5/10

Anton & Dejo - I Wanna Be With You - Boring... sounds like something Norway would've sent in late 90's 2/10 :P

Engla - Don't Stop - No suprice that I like this, but it's a little too.. I donno.. casual?? She is a good singer, and the song is great at first listen, but I cannot see it represent Sweden. 8/10

Personally I hope to see Engla and Julia Alvgard in MF 2011 :)

Well you got one of your wishes :) Me too :(

oh lol I didn't notice there was a 3rd page  I only read the second page

happy to see Julia go through :)

For fans of 80's and 90's ESC/MF, another confirmed act for MF is Elisabeth Andreassen! Wonder how she'll fare this time around. The final 15 artists will be revealed across 22nd and 29th November!

from ESC Today

The Swedish broadcaster SVT has just announced that the 2011 Melodifestivalen tour to select the Swedish entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest will be singer and ex-member of A-Teens Marie Serneholt and TV host and broadcaster Rickard Olsson. Here the Swedes once again combine a familiar face from the pop music world with an experienced media personality.

Marie Serneholt takes over presenting duties from her boyfriend Måns Zelmerlöv, who got very good critique as one of the three hosts last year. She has also taken part in Melodifestivalen as a singer in 2009, having previously been a member of the popular band A-Teens. She has previously hosted one show for SVT and has been a member of the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest preview show jury.

Rickard Olsson is an experienced TV host who has even previously worked on Melodifestivalen, the Second Chance round in 2003. The host pair will also be joined every week by a secret guest.

In other Swedish news it has been reported, that a big fan favourite from last year, Eric Saade will take to the stage again. He made his big break last year after finishing third with Manboy. The artist himself refused to confirm to Expressen he will take part, and the official confirmation will come from SVT in due course. According to the Expressen newspaper the list of songs taking part in 2011 is as follows at the moment:

Linda Bengtzing - E de fel på mig

Lasse Stefanz - En blick och något händer

Sara Lumholdt - Enemy

Sanna Nielsen - I'm in love

Danny - In the club

Elisabeth Andreassen - Vaken i en dröm

Melody Club - The hunter

Dilba - Try again

Nicke Borg - Leaving home

Pernilla Andersson - Desperados

Babsan - Ge mig en spanjor

Swingfly- Me and my drum

Simon Forsberg - Tid att andas

Loreen - My heart is refusing me

Rasmus Viberg - Social butterfly

Jonas Matsson - On my own

Julia Alvgard - Better or worse

Eric Saade - TBA

Marie hosting and Sara in the final 32 songs - A*Teens extravaganza :w00t: Interesting to see Eric Saade competing again so soon...he's so huge there now, I wonder if he can win next year. The reaction he caused on my Facebook feed when he purely read the votes for Sweden on ESC this year was huge!

Ge mig en spanjor

Please tell me i'm not the only one hoping for Saade vs Sandén and a token Alcazar epic

Sorry, but you probably are

In the case of Alcazar, unlike alot of other national finals, persistance is NOT rewarded at Melfest, and 3 years in a row would be overkill :(

As for Molly, nobody cares :P And we all know she's not his real girlfriend :kink:

Molly Sandén is a legend and has an amazing voice. I needs new Sandén!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you do, but Melfest certainly doesn't :P

My goodness, she was met with such indifference last time she entered, even Rich didn't give a $h!t about her when she walked past!!

She just needs to comeback with an English track along the lines of Mitt Liv Ar Mitt and Det Ar Inte Jag

:smoke: no one cares (apart from you interrupting her family breakfast!). If it had been Alcazar walking past me of course or Dame af Ugglas, it would have been a different matter!

It was all about Mans in the foyer!

I CARE!!!

Poor Sandén :snif:

I grew to like Sa Vil whatever it was called in the end but it was still my 3rd least favourite of the line up. It could be worse, she could have been Sofia. Never has any performer been greeted with such indifference. If SHE'd walked past me, I wouldn't have even realised who it was...

The crowd roars (maybe not...)

I've heard much better from Molly since her MF entry.

From ESC Today, the line up for the first two semis:

Semifinal 1 - Luleå, February 5th

Desperados - Pernilla Andersson

In the club - Danny

Me and my drum - Swingfly

Oh my God - Le Kid

On my own - Jonas Matsson

Social butterfly - Rasmus Viberg

Something in your eyes - Jenny Silver

Try again - Dilba

Semifinal 2 - Göteborg, February 12th

Elektrisk - Anniela

Ge mig en spanjor - Babsan

I'm in love - Sanna Nielsen

Like suicide - Christian Walz

My heart is refusing me - Loreen

Oh my God! - The Moniker

Seven days and seven nights - Brolle

Vaken i en dröm - Elisabeth Andreassen

Jenny Silver  .
