If he was with Armenia/Azerbaijan/Turkey/Greece/Russia, maybe the situation would be slightly different, but I'd still have him down as qualifying.

Saint Sanna would never do or say such things, even if she'd finished last! I'm In Love hasn't really done anything on iTunes or in the official Swedish chart so I can only assume that she came top 5 in the televote thanks to personality votes :D She definitely got the 2nd loudest cheer (behind Eric) upon walking out in Globen.

 

Talking of Popular's plagarism, it's a wonder the remaining members of Boney M haven't launched a lawsuit as the backing track really does take the proverbial doesn't it. I'd love it if the EBU relaxed the rules one year as an experiment and allowed covers/samples into the contest. It could be the greatest car crash of all time! But as they don't we just get a load of old rip-offs. We've already got Sing For Me 2.0 and now we have Kall Som Is/Night Flight To Venus!

Dannys album is overall a bit underwhelming.

 

Yes there isnt a 'duff' track on it but very few stand out as amazing unlike many of his previous efforts on HB and SYBF. Hopefully a few will grow though.

I am sad to see another year of Melodifestivalen come and go.. Tho this year it was absolute garbage.. I miss the fact that we may not be getting anymore decent Swedish Music for another year. From all of this, I'm hoping to see another album from Eric Saade - with about 10 Different Versions of Popular-esq Tracks..

 

Here is my ranking of the final:

 

7.0: Danny - In The Club: Meh, Everyone says its a grower.. and it really is.. but it had the potential to be 100% Better, and 100% Less Stupid.. The chorus is the real let down.. But the rest of the track is pretty good. In some ways I am shocked that it actually came second, but looking back on what actually qualified this year, Not really.

0.0: Sara Whatever - Spring för livet: Couldn't be bothered. Don't speak the language, and too slow and boring for my amusement.

8.0: The Moniker - Oh My God!: First Off.. His final performance was OUTSTANDING. Probably for me one of the best of the night - but exactly that, a Performance. If it was Mika or Neo singing this, They would have won probably. This is no where NEAR getting close to my adding to my iPod or Charting - But it's catchy, and he performed it very well.

3.0: Brolle - 7 Days and 7 Nights: Can you say American Idol Finalist Track Much.. How did this qualify? This is probably one of the most unoriginal songs I've seen on Melodifestivalen. His look doesn't support the Track at all, and it seems like the image he was TRYING to Portray was a mix between Elvis and Lifehouse :puke2:

6.0: Linda Bengtzing – E det fel på mej: Every year there is 1 Non-English Track that I really enjoy, 2 years ago it was Alla, last year it was Kom. This year Linda sorta takes the prize. The problem with this song, is that it's a little too fast and a little bit too non-english for me to warrant Charting.. I'd like to see an English version of this song released.. But it probably wouldn't do the original justice.

1.0: Nicke Borg – Leaving Home: First off, I was shocked to see this on the Finale.. I missed the Second Chance round, and actually read that Pernilla Andersson had qualified (HATED THAT SONG), and I probably hate this one equally.. Just not into this Lifehouse/Creed/Mainstream rock crap - Tried giving this a chance, It had promise.. But should have been omitted from Melodifestivalen.

5.0: Swingfly - Me and my Drum: From the first time I heard this song to the Finale, It had REALLY Grown on me - I see them as the Swedish Black Eyed Peas. The song is great - I don't normally care for the Rap Bits in songs, and this track is just littered with it.. But I must say, This song takes the Worst Performance of the night. First off the Rapper Guy looks like he's gained about 20 Pounds since they've found they've won. Vocally he was a let down, It sounded like they were filtering his voice?! The white guy was a bit of a let down too.. and his chorus was the best part.. But the Fergie-Esq Chick for the Middle 8 still lived up to her part. I'm shocked they ended up as high as they did. I thought they'd end in the Bottom 2.

7.0: Sanna Nielsen - I'm In Love: Consistent. Very Consistent. Not seeing any change from her Original Performance until Now.. Except more Fog. The thing that urks me about Sanna is that she is very boring. And this track is not! I think this song should have been given to someone else - because in terms of the Performance, She does not deliver. Her song is great for the track (infact it was #1 for me last week), but she just doesn't have the stage presence to pull it off.

8.0: The Playtones - The King: I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE HATE. I hate the gimmick of the group myself, But the song is actually quite good! It reminds me of the Opening song to True Blood. It may not be for Melodifestivalen - But it's still a catchy song. Better than 90% of what was supplied this year.

8.5: Eric Saade - Popular: Honestly. The Best Song This Year. I was worried this wouldn't win - Becuase for every year I've watched Melodifestivalen.. My favorite has NEVER Won. This is my favorite Melodifestivalen Track since "Stay The Night" - which says alot because there are alot of decent tracks this song presentation has had. I couldn't score it any higher because I thought his Original Performance in his heat was alot better. Overall, I am VERY happy for Eric - and I hope another album comes out shortly! He's quickly becomming one of my FAVORITE Male Artists from Sweden - I just hope he can keep this high going! :wub:

 

All in All - A very dissapointing year. I will forever remember Melodifestivalen 2011 as the year "To Close My Eyes" - If I wanted to see an overweight black man struggle to belt out lyrics (Swingfly) I'd watch American Idol. Sanna should have given her song to someone with a little bit more Personality - Her voice suits. But I can't watch that forced smile and that odd circle walk anymore. Danny had a great song, but lost out because the Chorus is too simple, and his Backup Dancers are So You Think You Can Dance rejects. The second you see Nicke Borg's slicked back hair, you immediatly skip to the next track. And I would prefer to know that The Playtones didn't have a 70 Year Old Senior playing what appears to be the Banjo?

The only two people that I can actually give a Kudos to for performances are The Moniker and Eric Saade - Tho Eric can do without that Very Homosexual lineup where it appears that the guy behind him wants him undressed.

Whatever stats Tyron got hold of for the second and third AC duels weren't correct, thank god, they did seem ridiculously low.

 

And look at week 4! Love Generation would have won the heat if they'd got 700 more votes! But Nicke overtook them in the second round to send them to AC...I did wonder how on earth Linda won the heat, it obviously wasn't by any means comprehensive...

so LG missed on the win of th 4th heat by like 700 votes to Linda :o :drama:
