July 17, 201015 yr I'm amazed at the amount of nominations that Britney is getting. The last few albums have sounded like they were made by a robot and even in the early 00s she was hit and miss.

July 17, 201015 yr It seems the list can be divided into four categories "Singers" - women who have fans because of their vocal abilities, often these singers are hindered by average material and music which is dull and uninspiring. But the voice is indisputably great - eg Leona Lewis Pop stars - these are the vehicles for hit machines and almost always have a block-buster sound which clearly has a lot of money spent on it. Their albums often have multiple producers and writers. They can, on occasion, create great pop music - eg Britney Spears. Innovators - these women have balls. They compete against a male dominated arena, they dont give a f***, they have a hunger for making great art and endlessly change their direction - eg Bjork. Singer/Songwriters - these women plug away, album after album on their acoustic instrument seemingly oblivious to the rest of the world. eg Tori Amos Some women in the list do fall into two of the categories. 'Blackout' is an amazing album. Britney has some absolute classic songs, which are obviously going to be played for many years to come. This rate is of 'all-time' and most artists do have albums which are a bit below par (for which you mentioned her last two, which i disagree with). Britney Spears has been one of the greatest female performers of the last decade and although she doesn't have the most amazing voice and isn't the greatest songwriter, there's no denying the fact that she's extremely successful and some absolutely amazing records. Therefore, I do think she's worthy of the nominations she's getting. MORE PEOPLE SHOULD VOTE BJORK THOUGH
July 17, 201015 yr I don't think she's half as interesting as many less successful artists. It's my opinion. I personally love Everytime though.

July 18, 201015 yr Britney is obviously going to be the target of haters because of her longevity and millions of record sales. Atleast one thing can be said for her is that she recognizes what her fan base wants and she delivers every time. And that is the general consensus obviously as she continues to do well and keep a strong fan base. But I can see why some would not favor her output. Each to their own! ^_^
