...but don't listen to it :kink:

I loved the studio version of Disappear  the live performance was a train wreck though, lucky for them Bulgaria gave it the full 12, even if everybody else had ears

No Angels will be forever tainted for me now thanks to hideous Nadja's behaviour :( Though I do still ADORE Daylight In Your Eyes, no matter how much of a Ray of Light rip off it is!

I also loved the studio version. At one point, "Disappear" was 3rd in my rankings

Was it mentioned during the live shows that a member of the band was from Bulgaria? Perhaps on their commentary, or maybe she's known over there. That must surely be why they gave them 12pts, but I didn't think a casual Eurovision viewer would know if a member of an act was from a different country to the one they are representing.

I think one of the No Angels members was a judge on Bulgarian Idol? Seem to recall reading that somewhere...

Regarding the point about a metal act being our entry in 2011, Pythia would be great

I'd love to see Patrick Wolf or Amy McDonald representing the UK. ^_^

Yes, Lucy Diakovska.

Fair enough, I guess it was the recognisability factor that scored her points. I suppose if Louis Walsh sung for Ireland one year, the UK would inevitably pass a 12 his way too with rightful nuls guaranteed from everywhere else :drama:

Worked for Finland, but not for the Czechs...

Nothing works for the czechs

The Sugababes management have been quite successful at killing the Babes career and brandname thus far, they don't really need ESC for the final nail, they sacked Keisha. That nail was hammered in a year ago.
I think you need an unknown artist but purely talented and with a good song. Like it was with Jade.

or we could pay Lady Gaga a billllllion pounds to write a song and sing it for us, then we'd win fo sure ha

Seriously though... if the BBC do not get it right next year, i think they should have it taken off them and given to ITV or just new management? because they are just wasting money/p***ing off the country and turning the contest in to a yearly joke.

Maybe they should be reading forums like this for ideas and not asking radio 2 listeners LOL for advice... how does that even match the target market of eurovision for christ's sake! It needs to be an x factor style contest, even if it is only like judges rounds on fri, semi finalists on sat, and finalists on sunday... then they need to promote everywhere properly like jade ewen and make a decent music video, get it all over the tv/radio to get support etc

The latest rumour going around is that Charlotte Church may represent us next year :o

I don't think it matters what rumours go into circulation, if the BBC can't afford/don't want to host the Eurovison Song Contest in 2012 then they will ensure that we send some embarrassing mess like most years to Eurovision.

Thinking back to earlier this year, we had rumours of Katie Melua and Hurts showing interest. 'The Flood' went on to become a big hit in central Europe. As for Hurts, they've had more success in Europe than they probably will ever have in the UK. -_- Just imagine had 'Wonderful Life' been the song that represented the UK in 2010.

I don't see why everyone says putting someone on eurovision is embarassing and it messes their status up.

If i was anybody looking to break the European market i would love to do this.. Look at Lena she did incrediably well around europe. If somebody like Eliza Doolittle, Pixie Lott, Marina and the Diamonds wanted to break europe why not do this it's perfect there is over 60m+ watching around europe?

I'd love to agree with you Lee, but the last time Eurovision launched an international career for a UK performer was Gina G in 1996  It seems to be associated too strongly with the "curse of Eurovision" over here, which doesn't seem to exist in other countries, but nevertheless means that a UK act that enters Eurovision will never be taken seriously, or have a hit, again. That is the only good reason I can think of for Jedward entering... :kink:
Personally we need a gimmick like Katie Price :kink:
