May 1, 201114 yr I would love them to go into the contest with a proper hit on their hands, ie. top 10 this week, which I think is quite likely and if it does well on the night it might even peak higher than that.
May 1, 201114 yr Sounds like a WINNER to me. Something I never imagined myself saying about a British entry to Eurovision EVER
May 2, 201114 yr Anything less than top 5 and I will be very angry, I don't want to get my hopes up too much but things are certainly looking very good.
May 2, 201114 yr I just got the CD single, anybody who wanted to know the tracklist, it actually is worth getting for £1.99 even if you've downloaded the iTunes EP; 1. I Can (Radio Edit) 2. I Can (Funky Viva Remix) 3. All Rise (Acoustic Version) The producers - Starsign - are Hallgeir Rustan and Ronny Svendsen. The former was a member of Stargate until 2001, so the rumours were partly true when people said they'd been working with Stargate  He was also behind All Rise, and some hits for S Club 7 and Fierce(!). Who'd have thought that the producers of THIS (UK top 3 hit); 9nqJjT0YVaQ would go on to have some of the biggest hits in the world right now for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Wiz Khalifa etc...
May 3, 201114 yr #6 in the first mids, will probably drop to top 15 by the end of the week, but after the last three entries all failed to reach the top 20 (or barely top 200 in Josh's case!) it's a marked improvement, particularly pre-contest and with no airplay.
May 3, 201114 yr Ecstatic with how it's doing in the charts considering the lack of support they've been getting! I think 4 Music is the only music video channel I've seen the video on. And that's only on countdowns and stuff though. (Where it was at number 3 yesterday!) Need to give their So you think you can dance performance a listen.
May 3, 201114 yr They have a bit of promo this week but nothing I can see massively boosting them - hopefully it will remain stable-ish on iTunes though, it's only gone down from 16-18 in the last two days. It will drop quite far next week before rebounding post contest. I'm really pleased with how it's started though, I thought cracking the top 30 this week would have been an achievement, for a pop group to take six years out, only to return with a Eurovision entry, isn't exactly a recipe for chart success
May 3, 201114 yr Just seen the performance it was good, but the Paul O'Grady show was better for Lee's vocals. The guys looked like they were really, really appreciating the crowd in the So You Think You Can Dance performance as it was showing them for the first time, I believe, that there ARE people in the UK that DO support them. COME ON BLUE.
May 3, 201114 yr I just watched the Loose Women performance, but yeah Lee wasn't as good as he can be, hopefully he's saving it up for ESC night  I was then flicking through music channels and saw it on Bliss then Chart Show in the space of about 10 minutes which is good news! Plus All Rise was playing on The Vault  My mum was in the lounge watching with me (I'm at home for a few days this week), and she said 'this is the first time I've liked our Eurovision entry in decades' - to be fair she used to be a major Blue fan so that opinion didn't come as a huge shock!
May 3, 201114 yr How on EARTH are Blue #6 in the mids?! It must be the same effect as Scooch, whatever effect that is  .
May 3, 201114 yr How on EARTH are Blue #6 in the mids?! Not entirely sure, I'm guessing the physical's selling better than expected (what's left of Blue's fanbase + ESC loons) and they've still got two versions of the song in the iTunes top 100, currently at their peak of #15/96. New releases always seem to start off the week incredibly well in the mids, I'm still expecting to see it around #13 on Sunday, but that's about 15 places higher than my most optimistic guess as to their debut position, so I'm very happy with that! Either way, they're looking at first week sales of 25k, which isn't bad at all for a Eurovision entry. They are top ten on one iTunes chart - the music video chart, where they're #5! Why don't people just download the EP for an extra 60p?
May 3, 201114 yr Well I'm very pleased to see them that high, if a little surprised. I've done by bit though and bought the physical. HMV had a good stock of them and I saw a couple of people (20 something females, presumably fans of Blue of old) buying it too.
May 3, 201114 yr Saw Loose Women and Blue Peter performances today, and I have to say that Blue Peter was one of the best performances I've seen, better than on Loose Women - so good job :)
May 4, 201114 yr Being played now on Radio 1 on the Chart Update - REJOICE as it's the only time it will ever get played outside of the Sunday chart show  :nocheer: Greg shouted Eric Turner over the top of the track, implying that it sounds like Written In The Stars, which to be fair - it slightly does! So with that in mind, why won't the damn station playlist it?
May 4, 201114 yr I hope they playlist it today. I know it's very (VERY) doubtful but I'm still holding out for a bit of hope. I don't care if it's just C-List, it's better than getting zero plays at all. The Daybreak performance was alright. Lee really needs to tone it down a little and save all his high notes for the very last one, as he's not been hitting that one at all lately. Hoping it's so he can do it on the final, but I doubt it as he goes to attempt it then thinks f*** it. Hammering this a lot this week it's just FAILING to get old! It is a genuinely, brilliant song and I can't help but feel it'd get the support/plays if it wasn't for the Eurovision tag! They're 100% correct in their interviews and stuff and people need to stop being ignorant and bringing a song down, just because it's being entered into Eurovision!
May 4, 201114 yr Left off Radio 1 again, and this was basically its only remaining chance, BUT it's been added to Radio 2's playlist for next week so we should be grateful for that I suppose! IMO though, the song itself doesn't really fit Radio 2 and lets face it, if Tinie Tempah was behind it Radio 1 would be lapping it up and Radio 2 would ignore it, it's all about the artists, not the song. I'm guessing Radio 2 listeners don't tune in to hear heavy synth laden/drum driven pop, whereas it would sound completely relevant on Radio 1 but the BBC know their listeners best, who are we to argue
May 4, 201114 yr Saw Dan Wootton on twitter, about 'it's only on the C List', 'better late than never' - but he was only on about R2, kinda got my hopes up :(
May 4, 201114 yr I was hoping that Radio 1 would do what they did with Parade and add it after seeing how well it's doing in the mids, but I guess both Eurovision and Blue were always going to be far too uncool. The now completely irrelevant and nowhere near 'cool' Panic at the Disco, who will NEVER have a hit again, and who barely anybody cares about these days, are much more deserving of a place on the playlist :D The playlisting team on R1 need a massive shake up, because it's all incredibly stale at the moment and has been all year.
