Today it was announced that Ms. Spears has officially sold over 100 million records. The stats have been certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. Her debut album Baby One More Time sold more than 28 million copies within a year and her 2nd album Oops!… I Did It Again sold over 20 million copies and debuted at #1 with sales of 1,319,193 million in the 1st week. Britney is the best selling female artist of the 2000s, as well as the 5th overall, joining the ranks of Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey who have also sold over 100 million albums within their careers.
