A new song, 'Safe & Sound' featuring The Civil Wars for The Hunger Games.

I REALLY like it, a bit of a different sound for Taylor. :D

I am in LOVE with this. It definitely has a "soundtrack" feel to it though, but it's mesmerising...

'Safe & Sound' debuted at #30 on the Hot 100 this week, because it was only released with a couple of days of downloads. It's was released today in the UK, no idea why a Thursday though.

I've also found a new love for 'Ours' today. I never thought much of it before, even when the video was released, but I find it a really sweet song now.

This album is unbelievably good. I looked at the singles which were released and in my opinion, they made strange choices. Enchanted and Sparks fly felt like better single choices but what do I know. Other than Dear John, the first 9 tracks are all so good! Glad the rate is happening which made me go and listen to these earlier albums. This is one of my favourite albums.

After having this recommended in the ‘Rate’ thread I decided I’d give Speak Now a listen through as I’d never done so before.

I’d previously only heard Taylor’s first two albums in full and not since around 2010. Speak Now though is fantastic, the first 9 songs plus Haunted are all amazing, what a run! The remaining tracks were good, but those other 10, just brilliant!

I’m thinking I’ll now try and do a listen through of all or most of Taylor’s albums. I’m thinking 1989 next (though I detest Shake It Off), but what you people here recommend I check out next?

yup I'd say 1989 next! <3 folklore & evermore though are probably my favourites (the former is the reason I became a fan of hers), they're very different to 1989 but definitely worth a listen!

Thanks for the replies.

Definitely interested to see what Folklore and Ever,Orr are like. I know it a change in sound for Taylor, buts that’s about it.

Hey, just read your post. Speak Now is such a high quality album right? Those first 9 songs are all 10/10 …

So personally, I’d suggest listening to the first 6 albums you haven’t listened to yet as they get re-released as Taylor’s versions. You said you’d listened to Fearless previously but I’d defo suggest listening to the re-recording if you haven’t yet and if you haven’t listened to the re-recording of Red then that is top of the list too! Lover, Folklore and Evermore won’t be re-recorded so you could listen to them too.

Re-recordings left to be released:

Taylor Swift

Speak Now

1989

Reputation

Just a suggestion :)

Thanks London, yeah, I actually own the first two albums. I got them back in 2009.

I want to do Fearless and Red TV but the length makes me think it’ll take two or three sessions to get through.

Great suggestions though. Thanks.
