I'm currently working my way through this apace, up to S03E017 now. There's been so many WTF/OMFG moments along the way, almost all of S2 was among the best written/acted TV I have ever watched, up there with BSG in terms of sheer quality.

I'm deep into S3 now and it isn't quite as engaging unfortunately, I like that they've moved slightly beyond the paralell universes story, but it's still prominent but some of it is becoming rather hard to believe. First people? I'm finding that hard to buy, even by Fringe's standards.

Leonard Nimoy was GREAT as William Bell though and I did have to laugh at Olivia channelling him, all power to Anna for taking on such a distinctive voice and not lip synching.

Much love for Nina Sharp and Walter and his Walterisms too, Vagenda was a total WTF moment and I had to rewatch it to understand. Love the 1985 opening credits too, the level of effort expended on everything they do is huge.

I think Fringe was at it's best at with the last few episodes of season 2 and first few of season 3. It kind of went downhill a bit during season 3 though, especially the disappointing ending.

Season 4 has been good so far, but not great. The most recent episode was good but it was almost the exact same story as the white tulip episode, which I think is possibly one of the greatest TV episodes EVER.

I've been watching at a similar pace to John, I'm up to 3x06 so far... I thought everything from episode 8 of season 2 right through to the first episode of season 3 was proper GOLD, not a single duff or uninteresting episode (not counting the one that was carried over from season 1). But then 3x02-06 have been a bit off in terms of the cases being nothing interesting even though the mythology and the alt universe is enough to keep the attention.

I finally got round to watching the Finale in America after accidentally getting my dear friend hooked onto this show, to find I hadn't actually watched 120, or 119. So they've been watched and I have S2 and S3 on DVD ready for a marathon and S4 whoring space on TiVo so I do really need to get my arse in gear.
Philip dear WHERE ARE YOU at the minute? Did you say you were going to/already in America? Or did I dream that?
The cartoon episode in S3 was a welcome return to form after a slight LULL over the past few episodes. With only 3 to go I imagine there won't be any more filler before the finale *yay*

I am in glorious Dundee. :nocheer: I was in the states for a month in July/Aug.

I was all prepared for a 'this is a bit shit' season finale in S3, but OMG did it pull it back and then some. I am SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY the

first people stuff turned out to actually be them, because to believer a civilisation existed 250 million years ago more advanced than us really does push the boundaries of what I'm willing to except, even in fiction

.

Can't wait to get stuck into S4 on Monday *.*

I finally noticed The Observer in one of the episodes ('Unearthed'). Apparently they feature in almost every episode, if not all. :o

I'm currently on s02e15, 30 seconds in, and the misspelling of Manhattan ('Manhatan') already drew my attention enough to google if that was intentional or not (it'd be kind of stupid to think Fox would screw up like that though). Explanations I found made perfect sense.

Incredible show.

Season 2 is non stop amazing after episode 4/5. I guess that's why my expectations were slightly dampened by S3, but it does seem most people love it equally.

I watched episode 1 of season 4 and I was massively disappointed. I get what they were doing re. the changes from S3, but it really didn't work for me at all. Anna seemed to be giving a REALLY wooden performance in particular.

As for The Observer(s) I noticed them in quite a few episodes, even if it was just a one second shot in the corner of the screen. It's kind of fun trying to find them

Also, what the f*** is in Walter's eye in every episode? :o

AMAZING.

AMAZING.

Love it... reminds me of an episode in CSI when a corpse comes back to life and goes for a walk.

I must say I'm rather ENJOYING the 'spin-off' episodes (one that is supposed to be in season 1, one that explains the whole Peter situation and one with the glass heart story) of season 2. So much better than all the filler stuff most of the TV shows usually have instead.
I'm afraid season 4 is losing me, the

reset

really hasn't done it any favours at all. It still feels like its building to something, but it feels like a sub par S1 style build up and after S2 and 3 that just isn't good enough.

The reset is boring because:

1) If they don't remember what things were like before the reset, that's basically 3 seasons worth of character and plot development thrown out of the window.

2) If they do remember, then that basically all the stuff in season 4 so far is moot.

Really not interested in Fringe at the moment. Watching almost seems like a chore...like I have to because I have committed to it. I hope it picks up soon.

That's exactly how I feel about it too, although I watched episodes 4 & 5 last night and they were MUCH better, but like you say whichever way it turns out it's going to be disappointing.

I've been put off also. I struggle normally because I'm not that good with all the science lingo. I just say these things happen 'because of that bad thing Walter did'. But the episodes of S4 are painful to watch and are getting painfully dull. I hope it picks up past episode 4 but the thing in the past that has drawn me to the show are the characters and their whole dynamic has been screwed up.

I'm fully caught up with S4 now and it's certainly picked up over the last 3 episodes with the return of Peter and the budding Lincoln/Olivia relationship. It's starting to feel more like the Fringe I know and love again too which is nice.

The cliffhanger at the end of episode 7 was a bit of a surprise, no idea what's going on with that but it's nice to see

Nina Sharp

getting a bit more to do.
