Posted July 25, 201014 yr This should also be available shortly on the front page ... hopefully! We No Speak Americano is the new #1 single for Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP After its early release due to the presence of a cover, We No Speak Americano entered at #5, rose to #2 last week and now makes it to #1 for Australians Yolanda Be Cool and DCUP. By enlarge an instrumental track, the lyrics that are there are in Italian with the main chorus translating as: “How can your loved one understand you if you're speaking half American? When you're out loving under the moon, where do you get a phrase like 'I love you'?". In what is essentially a reshuffled top 15 from last week, the only other movement of note is the 8-5 climb for Eliza Doolittle’s Pack Up. Plan B - Prayin' climbs to #16 Prayin’ is the third single to be taken from Plan B’s second album The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, which has gone on to sell very well indeed after topping the albums listings. The single gets its full release on Monday, so another climb next week may not be out of the question. B’s massive last single She Said also rises back up 8 places to #25, mainly due to cherry picking from the Now 76 album. So the payers that she said seemed to help then! Jason Derulo - What If climbs to #19 One of the biggest new stars of 2010 has to be Jason Derulo, opening with 3 top 3 singles – Whatcha Say, In My Head and Riding Solo. Now single #4 to be taken from his debut self titled album rockets up 21 places to #19 this week. Full release is 3 weeks away so I’d expect this to progress further in the coming weeks also, perhaps a 4th top 5 hit? Usher feat Pitbull - DJ's Got Us Falling In Love enters at #20 Another act who seems to be doing incredibly well this year so far is US superstar Usher, his new single DJ’s Got Us Falling In Love makes its debut at #20. This is of course the follow up to the huge #1 hit OMG, which is one of the top 3 best selling singles of the year so far. This is another single to feature collaborator of the moment Pitbull, joining the latest hits from Alexandra and Enrique in this week’s chart. Basshunter – Saturday enters at #21 Jonas Erik Altberg is a 26 year old Swedish dance producer and singer songwriter, going under the better known pseudonym of Basshunter. Mr Hunter first came onto the scene with massive 2007 #1 hit Now You’re Gone, he followed that up with #2 single All I Ever Wanted and 2 further top 20 hits Angel In The Night and Every Morning. Saturday is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming fourth album, entering just outside the top 20 at #21 this week. Pendulum – Witchcraft enters at #29 Another Australian act join Yolanda in the top 30 this week, drum and bass group Pendulum swing their way into #29 with new single Witchcraft. The band were first formed in 2002 and have had several small hits, however 2 of these singles made top 10 – 2007’s #9 peaking Propane Nightmares and this year’s #4 hit Watercolour. Pendulum’s third album Immersion was the first ever drum and bass album to top the UK charts, from which this is the second single. Diana Vickers - The Boy Who Murdered Love enters at #36 Having been a semi-finalist in 2008’s X Factor, Diana Vickers has gone on to achieve a #1 single Once and #1 album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree. However both the single and the album were very quick to plummet down the charts, and now the second single is somewhat struggling. Entering as it does at #36, many would have expected The Boy Who Murdered Love to do rather better than this. It seems very likely that this will also murder her career, however the album has recovered slightly, re-entering the top 20 this week. Scouting For Girls – Famous enters at #37 Just a place below Diana is another act following up a #1 single from earlier this year with a much lower peaking one. Scouting For Girls first came on the scene in 2007 with their first 3 singles all going top 10 – She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead and Heartbeat. This year they then stormed to #1 with comeback single This Ain’t A Love Song, however their followup Famous is not such a success as it enters at #37. Eminem – Recovery stays at #1 in the albums chart Eminem remains at #1 in the album charts for the fourth week with Recovery, only Kylie prevented him from having 5 consecutive weeks at the summit. Eminem’s biggest challenge was from another rapper, Professor Green’s debut Alive Till I’m Dead enters at #2 off the back of his 2 top 5 singles. This week’s top 3 albums are all from white rappers, although Plan B at #3 is more of a singer now but started off as a rapper. Other new entries in the album charts include Seth Lakeman, 3 Oh 3, Sheryl Crow, Sting and RPA & United Nations Of Sound. Personal opinion Whilst I am happy to see a #1 that is not rap or urban influenced, I am still not keen on We No Speak Americano. I really like Pack Up by Eliza Doolittle and am happy to see it rise up to #5 this week. I don’t like the new Usher song much, much prefer OMG which to me is actually OK. I hated Basshunter’s rubbish at the beginning and still do, new single being no exception! Pendulum’s new song is OK however I’ve never been that big a fan of them, their songs sound similar to me. I liked Once by Diana Vickers but the new one just isn’t as good, on saying that I think it deserves better than #36. I’ve always quite liked Scouting For Girls, Famous is good but not as good as This Ain’t A Love Song.
July 25, 201014 yr Great commentary! Only one thing - it was actually SFG's second through fourth singles that went top 10, their first single was the #31 'It's Not About You'. Edited July 25, 201014 yr by Bray Doolittle

July 25, 201014 yr Author Great commentary! Only one thing - it was actually SFG's second through fourth singles that went top 10, their first single was the #31 'It's Not About You'. Ah so it was, I forgot that one was released twice ... before and after their trio of top 10 hits.
