July 29, 201014 yr Based on sales id say the Saturdays last two singles. Forever is Over got to number two but Ego sold vastly larger amounts and only got to number 9
July 29, 201014 yr Annie Lennox had a weird big-hit-small-hit cycle all from the same album. It could be argued that Little Bird was only a hit because it had Lovesong for a Vampire as a double-as side "Why" 5 "Precious" 23 "Walking on Broken Glass" 8 "Cold" 26 "Little Bird" 3 Edited July 29, 201014 yr by tonyttt31
July 29, 201014 yr Alanis Morissette: You Learn #24 then Head Over Feet #7 never understood this...You Learn followed Ironic and wasn't as big because the album had sold so much at that stage. Head Over Feat must have had some reason to do that well.
July 30, 201014 yr Author Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger No54 followed by Sweet Dreams No2 No Doubt - Just A Girl No38 followed by Don't Speak No1 Both of those flops made the top ten when re-released after the hit. Also the big 3 long running No1's of the 90s artists had relative flops before Bryan Adams - Victim Of Love No68 (1987) - I Do It For You No1(1991) Wet Wet Wet - Cold Cold Heart No23 - Love Is All Around No1(Both from 1994 but not same album) Whitney Houston - I Belong To You No54(1991) - I Will Always Love You No1 (1992)
July 30, 201014 yr They were buzz singles. The purpose was to gain exposure for the unknown artist before they made their proper 1st single release. Yeah Ellie is signed to both Neon Gold and Polydor, so they released UTS with Neon Gold to see how it would chart. I personally think UTS should be re-released as its a cracker song :D
