August 2, 201015 yr Photographs is better than 3 Words and THAT is FINAL. We Ride is amazing and shame on anybody who would even think about denying that. So cute, so chilled out. I actually love her delivery on Lemme Get That but I'd never choose to play it, just wouldn't turn it off if I was playing through the album either.
August 2, 201015 yr Author 30 / Music of the Sun 7.35 I advise ANY (Jark) person who hasn't previewed the debut to at least listen to this little jam. It's cute, its summery, its FLUFFY. And it HAS A TUNE!!! OMG. Yes I do like this quite a lot. Doesn't hold up against her recent material but still good. 29 / If I Never See Your Face Again 7.42 The final single from 'GGGB' and also a single from Maroon 5's re-release. Was never destined for greatness and it achieved very moderate success. I'd say it's still pretty well known amongst the general public. Alright song, nothing GOOD, nothing offensive. 28 / A Million Miles Away 7.60 One of the less shit ballads from 'AGLM', quite nice lyrics with again, a rarity on the first two albums, a TUNE.
August 2, 201015 yr I find the Maroon 5 THING offensive. By far the worst thing she's ever put her vocals to.
August 2, 201015 yr 'We Ride' is amazing and so terribly underrated. :( I love the lyrics and melody to it. 'A Million Miles Away' was one of the better tracks from AGLM.
August 3, 201015 yr Question Exsisting is amazing, so underated! I love Stupid In Love too (although I agree about the lyrics) Rude Boy ftw!
August 3, 201015 yr Author 27 / Sell Me Candy 7.62 Since the release of GGGB this was always my favourite album-track on it. I still play it quite frequently to this day, I love the summer vibe and the face it's so short it makes you just want MORE. LOVE. RIRI DID GOOD. 26 / Final Goodbye 7.65 I don't know much about this song, but thankfully it's one of the last pre-GGGB ballads to enter so I won't have to riddle my brain for sentence filler any more. HURRAH. 25 / The Last Song 7.77 Absolutely stunning song, very underrated. Perfect ending to a great album. I think this is the best ballad on the album and is one I seem to play moreso than the others. I love the whole thing, a truly 10/10 moment. 24 / Hate That I Love You 7.92 I remember this leaked shortly after 'Umbrella' premiered. I think the melody is there, its just a BIT bland! Ne-Yo was known for doing mid-tempo acoustic-esque style songs so it wasn't much of a surprise to me. It's just a bit of a nothingy song. I'm afraid I'm going away for a few days, so this shall commence on Thursday 5th August. Hope you're enjoying so far :o
August 3, 201015 yr Completely agree about 'The Last Song' absolutely stunning track and the best ballad she's ever done imo. It deserves more appreciation!
August 3, 201015 yr Sell Me Candy is average, as Is Hate That I Love You. can't remember Final Goodbye that well. And The Last Song is really good!
August 3, 201015 yr 'Hate That I Love You' is amazing. It's definitely in my Top 5 of both artists songs. 'Question Existing' really should have been last. Vile song. Absolutely vile. :puke:
August 3, 201015 yr The Last Song and The Final Goodbye are both stunning. 'Hate That I Love You' is just okay and I have always loved 'Sell Me Candy'.
August 4, 201015 yr The Last Song is definitely her best ballad. I like how she switches the chorus up lyrically each time it comes around too. NICE TOUCH.
August 5, 201015 yr Author 23 / If It's Lovin' That You Want 8.04 My favourite from the pre-GGGB era. The only song I can listen to and still enjoy (and SOS to a certain extent). Seems to be completely forgotten now, and I'd even say its her most forgotten single. Still it got her out of the one-hit-wonder category so HURRAH. 22 / Te Amo 8.08 Odd one this one, leaked about 1.5 years ago, and still managed to end up on the album. It's one of my favourites from 'Rated R' and I'm surprised it didn't do go Top 10 here. Still, a great little song, but nothing that will change the WORLD. 21 / Break It Off 8.12 One of her biggest hits in the USA surprisingly. Reached Top 10 on the Hot 100 without a video (one of the only songs to do so I believe... or I'm lying... probably lying). Sounds a bit crap now when put amongst her other material but at the time it was OMGORASMIC.
August 5, 201015 yr Author HMPF. MAYBE these next three will wet your appetite some more :) 20 / Good Girl Gone Bad 8.15 SMASHING it's way into the Top 20 we have the title track from the ever-amazing GGGB album. It's a good album closer (ignoring the bonuses and reloaded) and its perfectly NICE. Do I think it's deserving of a Top 20 placing... perhaps NOT. Favourite lyric: 'Trying to get enough drinks in her system, take her to the Tele and make her a victim' 19 / Cold Case Love 8.19 Her longest song ever[/craptrivia] but that doesn't stop this being a fan-favourite. From the Chris Brown bashing lyrics to the heavy Phil Collin's inspired drums, this was always going to be a popular song. FUCK YOU CB. Favourite lyric: 'And I let you reach me one more time, but that's enough' 18 / Kisses Don't Lie 8.29 Obviously a case of best-of-a-bad-bunch on the 'A Girl Like Me' album. Back when that first came out this was the obvious stand-out excluding the singles. Hasn't really held up well though if I'm being honest, which I AM. Favourite lyric: 'You whisper in my ear but are your words sincere, 'Cause pretty words can cut just like a knife'
August 5, 201015 yr Can't recall how Kisses goes which probably isn't a good SIGN. Good Girl Gone Bad is one of my absolute FAVES and the song I always considered her best ballad until The Last Song came along. Cold Case Love is very good also although I think the production will sound a bit dated before long...
August 5, 201015 yr 'Cold Case Love' is brilliant and 'Good Girl Gone Bad' is one of my favourite album tracks of Rihanna's. I loved 'Kisses Don't Lie' when the album was released. Still think it's one of the best tracks on the album.
August 5, 201015 yr Author 17 / Push Up On Me 8.54 Now we have Jark's personal favourite Rihanna song. I'm sure he'll cream knowing lots of people agree that it IS good. Should be higher imo, and it's also highly underrated! Favourite lyric: 'You wanna come and get me OUTTA THIS DRESS' 16 / Rehab 8.69 (less 9s) The final single from GGGB, I preferred it as an album-track seeing as another single just wasn't needed. Still it continued the list of Top 20s from the album, and still managed to be a hit single despite high record sales! BRAVO. Favourite lyric: I don't wanna smoke all these cigarettes any more' 15 / Wait Your Turn 8.69 (more 9s) Fierce as fuck song, totally wasted as a promo single. Although saying that I can't see it being a massive world wide hit, but it certainly could have done somewhat decently. The lyrics showed a brand new side to Rihanna, SHE SWORE. omgah. <3 Favourite lyric: 'Hottest bitch in heels right hurrrr' and 'Such a f***in' lady
August 5, 201015 yr You wanna MAKE me CHASE ya Like it's a COMPLIMENT Faaaabulous! Rehab is great. Bloody sexy song. Wait Your Turn should've been the fourth global single (after Rude Boy and Hard) and not a shitty BUZZ SINGLE
August 5, 201015 yr Author 14 / Take A Bow 8.88 Arguably her most generic single, really bland for me, but some people do love it. Still think 'Disturbia' should have been #1 and not this. It's NICE and PRETTY but where's the oomf?! Favourite lyric: 'Please' 13 / Breakin' Dishes 9.04 The first song to break 9.00 point average. One of her most popular album tracks (3rd most popular according to this list). I love it, and technically it should have been a single, but we can't really complain as we were spoilt for singles. Favourite lyric: 'I'm kicking asses, I'm taking names' Edited August 5, 201015 yr by Mikal
August 5, 201015 yr Breakin' Dishes - great. Nothing more to say, it's just fantastic. One of those songs whose greatness LITERALLY cannot be denied. Take A Bow is cutesy fun, very generic but it did the job and I do like her vocal on it.
