August 11, 201015 yr Can't believe Waka Waka is barely moving down at all...Wavin' Flag dropped like it had a brick attached when the world cup finished! The biggest shock is that the second longest chart run in the Top 40 is by a song that only reached No18 ! 64-51-36-22-22-{18}-21-21-25-28-32-30-28-32-31-34-34*
August 11, 201015 yr The 3.7k->3.0k lead in Tuesday->Wednesday makes this battle even more reminiscent of Happy vs. MMH. And it's going to have the same outcome. But we both know that in the "Happy vs. MMH" case, the best song actually lost out in the end. :kink:
August 11, 201015 yr Author I'm amazed at Plan B and Eliza hardly moved for the past 3 weeks from their respective current positions in the album chart. Kylie's album seems to be falling like an acorn at the moment.
August 11, 201015 yr Cant believe lady gaga's album is at #5 after 83 weeks in the chart?! I mean come on that is simply incredible! Who is still buying this album? Its just, i'm speechless at the success! AND the singles sell so incredibly well too, its maddd! Does anyone know if there will be any more releases from this album or is she finished with this album now? Pleased for Derulo whos up to #8 because of What If, if any of his singles were going to sell the album it was going to be this one. Also pleased for rihanna who's benefiting from the massive hype of love the way you lie, her album up to #12! Edited August 11, 201015 yr by Light up.
August 11, 201015 yr But we both know that in the "Happy vs. MMH" case, the best song actually lost out in the end. :kink: Meet Me Halfway won though
August 11, 201015 yr But we both know that in the "Happy vs. MMH" case, the best song actually lost out in the end. :kink: Thats not true Meet Me Halfway was one of there better songs and deserved to go to No 1 over Happy. It probably would not have happened if they had not apeared on X-factor the same night as Leona but their performance was really good to. :P

August 11, 201015 yr Re rule 10 - the one with the big lips is fit. Which one is that? Vanessa....... and she's the best vocally too. :D

August 11, 201015 yr No offense guys, but if you travel a few weeks into the future, Meet Me Halfway was STILL #3, whilst Happy was all the way down at #28. I think it's quite obvious by this who really deserved to be number-one. Not to mention, Meet Me Halfway has sold over 700,000, or something ridiculous, and is a magnificant song. Infact, Meet Me Halfway beat Happy in every single country in the world, apart from Austria, from what I can find out. (Sorry, I'm only being annoying because Meet Me Halfway is my favourite song from 2009.) Edited August 11, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob
August 11, 201015 yr I'm pretty sure that top 10 is exactly what I predicted in Ben's game this week! Well let's hope the Saturdays stay at #1 then, eh? :kink:

It's very electronic and it was riding high on the back of IGF's success. I love the song and I think it's their best single from the album but they also had the advantage that they are an American act - which seems to give them instant credibility when it comes to worldwide radio etc. 'Happy' on the other hand wasn't commercial at all and was by a British artist who isn't as established as many American acts. Whoever won, 'Happy' is more meaningful lyrically. :kink:

(+its down to personal choice) (+it probably did so well because of the hype around BEP and receieved better support from tv and radio then Happy did so had a bigger platform). Anyway back to this sundays predictions, i think eminem and rihanna could go out and get that #1! ps: yes i agree sceneofsixcrimes! Edited August 11, 201015 yr by Light up.

August 11, 201015 yr Whoever won, 'Happy' is more meaningful lyrically. :kink: Thats a matter of opinion though. MMH is more relevant and real (IMO) and has some quite special lyrics in it.
August 11, 201015 yr I'm predicting 58-60K for The Saturdays: 6K - Wednesday 6K - Thursday 9K - Friday (Supposed Saturdays downloading day) 8K - Saturday (Weekend-Effect + Front-Loadedness)
August 11, 201015 yr Thats a matter of opinion though. MMH is more relevant and real (IMO) and has some quite special lyrics in it. Well, both songs had better lyrics than your standard 2009 chart hit I suppose, but I do agree that Happy had better lyrics. I loved Meet Me Halfway for the instrumental, and Fergie's voice. I never really concentrate on the lyrics of a song to be honest, unless it's one of the songs where you just can't ignore the lyrics, like in Billionaire.
August 11, 201015 yr That's true I suppose. And sorry for making you almost want to kill me. That's ok. :P Don't worry I would have only poisoned you - you don't seem like the type to be strangled or stabbed. Thats a matter of opinion though. MMH is more relevant and real (IMO) and has some quite special lyrics in it. Is it though? Could you enlighten me in regards to these "special lyrics". :P I think Fergie's delivery makes her parts special. I think 'Happy' is more relevant and is more "connectable". Everyone can relate to it in at least one way, shape or form. Everyone strives to be happy and many take those risks to ensure that they capture that happiness despite their loved ones worrying whether they will get hurt on the way.
August 11, 201015 yr Tbh.. i think depending on Itunes Saturdays may come 2nd, and even with physicals they have a 30% of being number one this week.
