Posted August 12, 201014 yr Currently top 30 on US iTunes, I have no idea who this band are, but I youtubed this song and loved it instantly. I always enjoy country ballads but the lyrics on this one are really thought provoking and well worth a listen. No chance of it crossing over to the UK as it's far too country, but Taylor Swift fans might approve. The lead singer's not exactly hideous either  7NJqUN9TClM
August 12, 201014 yr This screams Lady Antellebum. I've heard better, Shania Twain does country ballads to perfection. Rich is into blondes again  :heehee:

August 13, 201014 yr I like Lady Antebellum! And Shania hasn't made any new music for the best part of a decade :drama: Well, she has done some very impressive ballads before :D Faith Hill does country ballads better than anyone, even Shania.
August 13, 201014 yr Author Well, she has done some very impressive ballads before :D Faith Hill does country ballads better than anyone, even Shania. Oh I agree, no denying that, I just wish she hadn't disappeared... But yeah, I prefer Shania's uptempos and Faith's ballads generally, Carrie Underwood is very good at both
August 13, 201014 yr Carrie is amazing  I Know You Won't  Faith is amazing a up and down tempo,
August 14, 201014 yr Carrie Underwood is very good at both  She's like the Queen of versatility
August 14, 201014 yr Author This is such a grower, it has to be one of my fave songs ATM! Agreed. I loved it on first listen but it gets better each time too, it's very soothing considering the dark subject matter... She's like the Queen of versatility  That she is  Before He Cheats vs. Jesus Take The Wheel show this, as do many many other examples. All of her albums have a great mix of ballads and uptempos.
January 30, 201213 yr Author So...it would seem that this is getting a UK release :o A year and a half late but it's been hanging around the US charts for practically the whole of that duration! Just saw the video on Chart Show TV! I'd love to see this be a hit, probably my favourite country song of the last couple of years
January 30, 201213 yr HAS to be a hit. Easily my favourite country song since Cowboy Cassanova, it's lush  I think it will only just about do the same as Need You Now though, even if it deserves MUCH more.
January 30, 201213 yr Author It does sort of seem like if any country song has the potential to crossover to the UK then it would be this, it's incredibly instant - mainly because of the lyrics I suppose which are surprisingly frank and depressing, but somehow beautiful at the same time. I noticed it in the iTunes top 1000 a few weeks back but it's now been taken off with the album on pre-order, so I guess they genuinely are gearing it up for release. It should get Radio 2 playlisting and hopefully go top 40, I expect the album will be bigger though. Pretty sure it was the pop mix I saw on Chart Show though (read: less violins), so I guess they're trying to market it to whichever audience took Taylor Swift's Love Story to #2...

It's a good song, i'm glad they're finally pushing it here, it's been long enough. I first charted this one on my chart at the end of 2010.
February 1, 201213 yr This seems very late, but its such a good song that could easily crossover, here's hoping.
