Interesting writers' credits: Samsaya wrote Endre's entry (shall have to relisten to that!), Ovi wrote the overlooked Pernille & Marius, and Hanne Sorvaag also had a hand in writing Guns & Boys along with her own entry...

I'm seeing a straight fight between Aste & Rikke and Babel Fish for Dusseldorf, and don't particularly mind which one gets the nod. I think some of you are being very harsh on Aste & Rikke - if Maria Haukaas Storeng Mittet had been responsible some of you would be lapping it up! It's got a gloriously retro feel, especially in the verses...

Nope, I was hardly raving over Make My Day last year (or its hugely underwhelming parent album), it was incredibly pedestrian, as is Aste & Rikki's song imo - I loon for nobody unless I like the song and to me it doesn't sound retro but current like Mine All Mine did, it sounds like a late 90's relic. The verses sound like Lauryn Hill and the chorus sounds like Mary Mary, except there's a whole cheap air to the song which I think comes in the production, and it puts me right off it. I far prefer the live performance of it as they do have decent voices, but I couldn't sit and listen to the studio version many times.

I really can't see any conceivable way that Norway will get out of the semis if they send that song, I noticed a comment on ESC Today which rings very true - Norway almost always finish at the top or the bottom, rarely mid-table, and this song most definitely screams bottom, or rather DNQ seeing as we have a semi-final these days.

Babel Fish is my favourite of the lot, but I think that really would land Norway mid-table, and if they were drawn near Blue in the final, it could take away from both acts as I wouldn't be surprised if Blue's song is somewhere along the same lines as Depend On Me.

Stella would definitely stand out, and I definitely wouldn't rule it out of winning. I don't realistically see anyone else winning apart from these three though.

On a separate note, I don't think I gave Yes Man enough credit last year (perhaps because I was too into the A1 song to notice it), it would have walked off with the title this year :o

Stella Mwangi straight to #1 on iTunes in Norway! Babel Fish crept as high as #4 and Aste & Rikke went low top ten for a bit I think :o Looks like Haba Haba could be off to ESC and I could actually see it being a big summer hit across the continent, I just don't think it would win for them - quite possibly top five/ten though, it's probably more jury friendly than Jessy Matador's song was and that was top ten on televoting alone...
Out of the songs that have made it to the final, it's between the two H's and Stella. All three have huge chances in ESC and would give Norway a very worthy result. Norra Noor was robbed last night, and I hope she gets a wildcard to the siste shansen round. It reminded me of "Tears Dry On Their Own" mixed with Erika Badu. Easily my overall fave of this pre-selection.

Oddddddsssss;

Stella Mwangi 2.50

Babel Fish 4.00

Helene Bøksle 5.00

The Blacksheeps 10.00

Hanne Sørvaag 12.00

Åste og Rikke 12.00

Endre Nordvik 50.00

The Lucky Bullets 50.00

Susperia 50.00

Use Me 50.00

Mimi Blix 75.00

Sie Gubba 75.00

Looks pretty accurate to me, except I'd switch around The Blacksheeps and Aste & Rikki.

Helene over A&R?!

Possibly, I feel that The Blacksheeps might take some of their votes or they just simply might be overlooked in the final where there's a lot more quality than in that horrendous semi of theirs, but there's going to be a certain type of fanbase for Vardlokk and there's nothing else like it in the final. Hopefully I'm not projecting my own opinion of the song too much onto this, but Aste & Rikki SMACK of random heat winner who end up doing a lot worse in the final. I don't see them pulling off the same trick again and really don't think they have any chance of winning. I'm now pretty sure that the two horse race is between Stella and Babel Fish, but Stella's definitely has that 'international summer hit' vibe to it that a lot of last year's entries had.

I voted for 'Haba Haba' by far my favorite in MGP 11'

Stella >>>>>>>>>>> Helena >>> Mimi Blix >>>> Anything else in MGP

Clever of them to go for a song which is a COMPLETE REHASH of the biggest song in Europe last year!

They have it in the bag if they send her  (SURELY? LOL)

I wouldn't think so at all, given it has nothing on Waka Waka! It'd perform similar to Allez Allez Ola I think, the juries will slaughter it...
I'm not so sure about that...it's more instantly likeable/colourful/charming than Allez Ola Ole which I loved, but I can see me liking this more in the long run. I can see Haba Haba performing incredibly well on televotes, and quite well with the juries if it's sent to Eurovision, I don't think they'll be anywhere near as harsh on this as they were with Jessy.
Possibly, but I don't see it winning - nor it being 'in the bag'!
Actually, wait - didn't Bjorn Johan Muri get INSANELY popular via Siste Sjansen last year? There's hope for Mimi Blix to make it to the Superfinal after all!

As far as I can recall, Yes Man was already insanely popular immediately after his heat and possibly #1 (certainly top 3) in the charts going into it, so there was no way he wasn't qualifying for the final - the real shock is that Maria edged him out with her non-song in the first place. And STILL, even despite having the most popular song in popular culture terms, he only managed to finish 4th in the final...I'll never quite get why Didrik had SUCH an edge over A1 and Bjorn...

If anyone's going to take the Bjorn Johan Muri Siste Sjansen vote anyway, it's Endre...and I reckon Susperia will take the other final spot.

I heard Mimi Blix on the radio last night thou :)
How awful, on both counts :drama: Carina, Sichelle, Noora Noor, Girl Happy all out :(

Last Chanse

Use Me - 'Daisy'

Sie Gubba - 'Alt Du Vil Ha'

Mimi Blix - 'Allergic'

Endre - 'Oh Oh (Puppy Love)'

Susperia - 'Nothing Remains'

The Lucky Bullets - 'Fire Below'

Pernille & Marius - 'I'll Be Yours'

Gatas Parlament - 'Jobbe Litt Mindre Og Tjene Litt Mer'

I hope Mimi Blix and Endre qualifies :)
