Well, well done to Spurs for getting this far, but they just got what I thought they would - a real drubbing. Imo it's Real Madrid's year this year.

Gareth Bale is over-hyped to the max. Good player, but he's not this absolute world beater he'd made out to be because he scored a hattrick against Inter Milan. It's times like this I wish Craig was here "peter crouch you big lanky c**t :@:@:@:@:@::@:@"!!!!!"

I saw Bale's stats the other day on SSN. 7 Premiership goals and 1 Premiership assists. Someone who's been apparently woefully out of form this season is Andriy Arshavin, yet he's managed to contribute 6 goals and 11 assists, only Nani has more in the Premier League. If Bale wasn't British he'd be rated as decent and be worth £12-15m.

Yeah exactly. I mean, I'm not saying he's not a good player, as he evidently is, but he's horrendously overrated. He's been injured for a while, but even when he was fit he looked good, but not Ronaldo/Messi standard (which is pretty much the same bracket the media and other managers are putting him in...lol).

Bossed by a midfield of Park-Giggs-Carrick-Nani - you know you've been terrible!

What an awful display from Chelsea. They had no midfield. As much as I wanted them to score, they didn't deserve it because they were absolutely dreadful. Can't believe Chelsea took Drogba off. Torres was abysmal as usual (ha). I seriously believe that the rumours about Abhramovic tinkling with the team selection is true. Either that, or Ancelotti bottled it as Torres was dreadful. And HOW Chelsea did not get a penalty I will never know. Clear blown one. If that was at Old Trafford it would have been given. UEFA definitely want a Man Utd vs Barcelona final.

I don't think Chelsea were THAT bad... even without that blatant penalty they had numerous opportunities to get themselves back into the game - more chances than United even. Their central midfield was weak but on the flanks, they looked like a threat.

Their had plenty of posession, but even when they got the ball to the wings their crossing was horrendous. They never looed like scoring until they went 4-3-3 instead of 4-4-2. Malouda and Anelka changed the game for them. They looked far more threatening when those two came on. They only play 4-4-2 to accomodate Torres. The Russian billionaire clearly has never watched Spain or Liverpool before. Did make me chuckle Chelsea got booed off the field, and they sang "we want our money back" (to torres) LOL!

It was a clear penalty. You could see how the referee didn't get a clear view but if the official behind the goal didn't see it then what exactly is he for?

Wouldn't have had the balls to give it injury time, and I'm convinced UEFA want a Man Utd vs Barcelona final anyway.

Can't think why, United were outclassed two years ago and every Chelsea v Barcelona tie has been pretty exciting.

Man Utd-Barca will bring about a much bigger audience and a much bigger revenue.

True. It's still disgusting if they were even attempting bias like that though.

Well, it would not surprise me. If it's Man Utd-Barca, I wouldn't put it past Man Utd to win either. Barcelona will be playing Real Madrid four times in about three weeks, so that's four massive games for them. :(

Man U are playing Chelsea three times in a few weeks plus a game against Arsenal.

Belated but an absolutley fantastic performance on Wednesday. We completley played them out of the midfield and if we can play like that whenever we need to.. well, UNITED FOR THE TREBLE!!

I hate to give them credit, but they actually were quite good. Very disciplined, and took their chances well. They're a completely average side, far worse than the team that got to the final in 2009, but they just seem to have a winning determination. Guts and ability can count a lot more for ability a lot of the time.

Chelsea were dreadful, again. Why he played Torres I'll never know. Drogba was a much greater threat. Chelsea were basically playing with 10 men. God Torres is awful, brings me much pleasure of course, especially since our "waste of money" scored two great goals yesterday!

IF they beat Schalke (which is not a foregone conclusion as I'm sure most un-educated Mancs will think) then the final vs Real Madrid/Barca looks a good'un. I'd still expect Barcelona to win. Speaking of which, Messi has scored an incredible 48 goals this season already :o Genius!

Jesus, that Messi total is unbelievable.

If Chelsea had come out and played a first half last week like they did tonight, it would have been a completely different story. They ran out of ideas in the end, it would give me great satisfaction to see Mourinho sink United in the final but he'll need to catch Barcelona on at least one off day.

Man U have achieved a great deal so far without playing particularly well. They should beat Schalke (but don't forget Schalke will have beaten Inter) but they will need to play better than they have done for most of the season to beat Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Schalke are a very good side. Their reputation is just poor. I'd be surprised if they beat Man Utd at Old Trafford (or even scored for that matter), but I'd definitely put money on them to win in Germany.

If Lampard had scored that oppotunity he fluffled earlier, then it COULD have hypothetically been a completely different game. Man Utd were just sitting back, letting Chelsea's stagnated attack (for however much they threatened, they never looked like scoring until Drogba came on) come at them, and then play on the counter attack and hope for a set-piece. It worked for them.
