Well apparently Avril Lavigne, Nicole Scherzinger and the cast of Shrek The Musical (which Amanda Holden is in iirc) are performing. All of them are a bit underwhelming (much as I love Nicole), so hopefully Gaga can give it a big star boost! And I'll actually POG when she has her special - I hope she does one of the album tracks like Sheiβe, Bloody Mary or Governement Hooker

Amazingly enough after 15 plays of the album in its entirety and significantly more of selected songs everything is still growing pretty much. I had a real Americano moment today after hearing it in-store in Zara whilst I was shopping after which it refused to leave my head until I could get home and listen to it. Highway Unicorn, even as arguably my least favourite on the album, is creeping up on me like crazy and I keep finding myself putting Bloody Mary on. It's an insanely good record.

The only thing currently 'shrinking' on me is Government Hooker which I've come to find slightly annoying. But perhaps I just need to rest that one for a few days.

Having said that I'm growing tired of some of the songs after a week, I had my third full listen through, and I fell in back in love with all of then like it was my first time listening. For me, there's isn't a bad song on there, apart from The Queen; I find that song to be pure filler and utterly forgetable. Marry the Night, Born This Way, Government Hooker, Judas, Americano, Hair, Scheisse, Highway Unicorn (Road to Love), Heavy Metal Lover, You and I and The Edge of Glory are ALL anthems for me. For one album to have so many for me is quite a feat.

The intro for Americano is ridiculously theratical, and that's no bad thing, I love how OTT it is. I also think the bonus tracks are getting alot more hate than they deserve, Black Jesus + Amen Fashion is a great pop song, the middle 8 is particularly delicious, and Fashion of His Love is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

My ranking of the songs (because a score would be ever so slightly inflated).

1. Marry the Night

2. Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)

3. Americano

4. Born This Way

5. You and I

6. Hair

7. Heavy Metal Lover

8. Government Hooker

9. Bloody Mary

10. The Edge of Glory (more stipped down and this would be perfect)

11. Scheisse

12. Electric Chapel

13. Black Jesus + Amen Fashion

14. Judas

15. Bad Kids

16. Fashion of His Love

17. The Queen

Subject to change of course.

Don't get how it didn't go #1 everywhere^

I thought this album would go #1 in 15+ countries :P

Charts in some countries aren't based on the same week as everywhere else. For example in Ireland it entered at #1 with only 4 days sales. So probably this may happened in other countries too. Plus, in some countries they started selling the album before 23rd so i don't know if this counts.

I think theatrical is the word that suits most to describe Americano. The whole build of the song, the tense of her voice, the music.

I've come to the conclusion that Americano is all sorts of amazing. This is such a solid album, each track's pretty brilliant apart from You and I which I just don't get. After a good week and a bit of listening to them here's my first rate

You really get the madonna/general 80's vibes from the extra tracks..

Fashion of His Love is very Whitney, it's now my favourite bonus track.
Don't get why everyone is growing on Fashion of His Love, going to try and get addicted to the song

Pretty difficult... every song seems to be engaged in a permanent game of snakes and ladders. Apart from the few at the top. I feel a bit obscene giving out so many big scores but they're just so good...

I genuinely feel like a massve stan - the album has been on repeat all week.

Starting to get bored of the album. Oh noes.

Feeling the same I think... I've only been listening to my favourite songs today and haven't really felt the need to listen to anything else from the album (even though I do think it's quite brilliant). All the chirpy choruses will probably drive me insane soon.

I only jam to my favourite songs on the album, shame because overall The Fame gave me around 7,500+ plays with all songs combined and The Fame Monster having around 5,000+ plays combined and this Born This Way album can't even get 3,000+ plays combined even though it's such a huge album... :drama:

5,000 plays for an 8 song album?

I don't even know what to say to that... how can you still get full enjoyment out of a song after 600 plays? And when do you find time to listen to anything else?! Before my iTunes crashed in 2009 I had a small handful of songs on 250+ plays. Not that I'm knocking you or anything, just intrigued.
