PAWS UP BITCHES http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/disco.gif But seriously, much as I'm aware that this looks like a RIDICULOUS loon rate (and I'm already braced for the mockery) the production, melodies and hooks on this are simply top notch. An astoundingly cohesive and strong piece of work - the singles work in the context of the entire thing almost better than they do on their own. The only weakness which sticks out for me now is You & I, which strikes me as a bit cheesy and a We Will Rock You style 70s pastiche misfire (Speechless did this sort of thing far better) but it's only had two listens so far so there's room to grow.

 

It's all SO GOOD.

Well it's very good indeed. I don't think it's quite what some people are making it out to be - a good half of the album is made up of 8/10s. But there are only two 7/10s for me (Bad Kids and Highway Unicorn) and they could and probably will grow. You & I is so Shania. It really puts me in mind of Nah! off the Up! album.

 

Early favourites, besides the five songs we already had, are Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover. The latter is bloody gorgeous. Best song overall is Hair.

Oh, Blackout was an all-killer-no-filler affair but that was all about the production, there wasn't much to it other than that - it was an album of some of the greatest mindless pop ever, but this has so much more to it :wub:

Absolute bollocks by the way. I don't understand how anybody could brand the likes of Hot As Ice, Perfect Lover or Why Should I Be Sad? 'killer'. Blackout is immensely overrated and hasn't aged well either. In The Zone is Britney's greatest triumph by far.
