That's astounding. If that's true, her total sales are going to be just enormous. 1 million + would almost be a certainty at this point now.

I partly agree with that, but I wouldn't have been shocked if they'd come in at around 150k - 200k for the two stores combined. It's only one day, so regardless of the price, an upper figure of 350k is just unbelievable. Remember, Amazon's share of the market isn't nearly as large as iTunes, so we've no idea what proportion of those sales are from what store.

But then again, literally everyone knew Amazon was selling her album for $0.99 that day lol.

I say 1.5 million is the target i think she will easily get 1million WW in First week

If she sells around 1.5 million first week, since how many years before has an artist sold more than that in it's opening week?

I find it funny how half a year ago, people say how Gaga will not surpass her "The Fame" era as she's peaked early in her career because of overexposure and this album is slaying the charts :D

My estimates are:

US: 800K

UK: 200K+

already thats 1million

I thought you mean't 1.5million+ in the US alone^ :P

No that would be crazy :P

I think what im confused about is the way the singles are coming so thick and heavy from the album, im wondering what the plan is to sustain long term sales, its an unusual promotional tool they have done in a way getting so many singles out before the album but the fame benefited from each single release and i cant see how born this way will manage to do that.

^Very true. Seeing if the album sells well, the singles will not chart as high as everyone already has the song from the album.....

Gaga better hurry up with The Edge Of Glory video...

^^ Oh, she'll take her time :heehee: The video won't be out until the end of June/ Start of July, me thinks...
What a bad planner. Seriously by the time the end of June comes The Edge Of Glory will have disappeared...

Revised rate after many a listen:

08 Marry the Night - Good opener but I'm almost bored with it by the time the second chorus kicks in... then the breakdown, beefed up final chorus and amazing ending completely rescue it.

10 Born This Way - Really love this now, so so catchy. Totally over the preachy lyrics and ridiculous Drag/Queen bits and enjoying it for the gloriously OTT statement that it is.

07 Government Hooker - I like this but I'm not totally loving it... there's just something missing from it for me, chorus sounds underproduced compared to the rest of it.

09 Judas - Talking of an underproduced chorus... however the rest of the track now completely saves it, it's taken a long time to get there though. Especially love the breakdown section.

08 Americano - Fun and ridiculously catchy. Would make a great Summer single.

04 Hair - It's all a bit too Glee for me. Lyrically poor and all a bit too happy. Annoyingly, remains in my head all day though and I keep finding myself singing it at work. Urgh!

11 Scheiße - Absolutely amazing. Definitely the highlight for me. Wish it had slightly more of the techno backing in places though.

10 Bloody Mary - Really grown on me, I can imagine it would be well played on radio and would contrast the other singles well if it was released. Only part that I'm not sold on is the dum dum da de dum bits but it's a minor gripe.

02 Bad Kids - Really poor, deleted it from the album!

05 Highway Unicorn (Road to Love) - Doesn't quite work for me, the lyrics (and title!) are total cringe also. May be relegating this to bonus disc status soon.

09 Heavy Metal Lover - This grows with every listen, would have been better following Bloody Mary as the OTTness of Highway Unicorn makes this sound tame in comparison when it's actually leagues ahead in terms of quality.

09 Electric Chapel - Wasn't keen on the guitar at first but love the whole thing now. Very catchy and the one time on the album where the step down in the chorus works well.

07 You and I - Grown on me a lot, still very Sheryl Crow but that's no bad thing to me.

09 The Edge of Glory - It's got me now. Love everything about it... aside from the sax.

Lady Gaga Oricon (Japan) 3rd Day sale = 20,674

Total in 3 days in Japan = 89,192

Total in 3 days in the UK = 126,000 + 3rd day sales

Bloody Mary's growing on me with every listen I can't get enough of it. Same with Bad Kids, proper grower..

and Heavy Metal Lover remains amazing

I am in love with Bloody mary. She reminds of Little boots on it, vocally i mean.

Had it on repeat quite a bit today while revising.
