I don't watch it. The reason so many people object to it is that the contestants get countless hours of free publicity on prime time television and radio. Other singers and bands work their socks off playing their own songs and their own instruments in pubs and other small venues for months in the hope that they might make it. Who is more deserving of success?

Its just an illusion and a useful lie that just because someone has entered X-factor that they did not slog their guts out trying to get a record deal.Realistically speaking Leona and Alex are not the type of singers that pubs, working mens clubs and some venues would book to perform based on their clientele. Both women worked the usual circuit for young female singers parties, events, bar mitvahs anywhere that would book them.I know that Leona got alot of knock backs from record companies. Both of them can write songs but since when has it been a pre-requisite to be a song writer to have a music career, Elvis, Sinatra, Whitney and countless others are not song writers. In terms of who deserves success it is those that work the hardest to improve as an artist, build up a fanbase and produce music people like.As someone has pointed out talent shows have always benn around why should it be held against someone if they enter.

All of those songs were performed except for I Like It, which I'm sure was just used in the background

I'm sure people have missed some out. I heard Green Light, for example. And I think I also heard In My Head.
Green Light, Club Can't Handle Me were played, In my head was performed :)
