I think you can guarantee Robbie being on if he has a single out but it would be unfair to Joe to have them perform on the same night as him, if Gary/Robbie have a single out.He did the same to Alex when Robbie was her main competiton and to Leona when he had the Black Eyed peas on.

Interestingly Robbie and Gary are released on the 4th - Joe is released on the 11th October. If Robbie and Gary don't perform then Joe should be clear for the #1 (depending on how good the two records are)

Robbie and Gary will probably perform the duet the same night as when they are on with Take That. Like they may open or close the first show and the Take That be on on the Results show.

(Are X Factor still going to be doing the main show on a Saturday, results on the Sunday - I think that was a detriment to Joe last christmas and could have cost him the #1 - one day less of sales, so maybe they'll put it back to what it was before?)

I thought they're trying to avoid the Christmas chart battle this year (and if they're not, they really should). If they do avoid it, they should get number-one easily anyway.

Or they could do the Saturday and Sunday thing every week, except the final.

Why would they definitely have to play it? There' going to be loads of new entries this week, and they won't have time to play them all in half an hour, so I'm expecting them just to play the highest new entries, which Leona probably won't be one of (plus it's a re-entry, so they would probably only play it if there wasn't enough new entries to fill up the show).

Notice the question mark at the end of Spiidey's post... :P

lol. Sorry.

I think it's unlikely to be played on such a busy week though, although I hope they do play it. On the Big Top 40 Show, they manage to play the whole top 10 in half an hour, so it is possible.

Simon doesn't care about where Joe charts if he gets Robbie and Gary on he knows he will have ratings which is noticeably more important to him.

I don't really understand your post ... How would it be "unfair" to Joe ?

I would say its a disadvantage to Joe but not unfair if they are on the same night as him. For a start, all eyes will be on 2/5s of Take That instead of him, and both acts would get promo for the singles so it would be a harder ride to get to #1 for Joe - but thats it. It's not "unfair" because it's not like Joe should just automatically get to #1, it's just a disadvantage because he won't be able to sail away above the competition

Yes, exactly. It is a disadvantage for him, but it is not unfair. He is not "due" a number 1 single, as much as I like him.

Performers that look likely to perform on xfactors due to songs

Alica Keys (she realises L.O.V.E on 25th october)

No she doesn't, it was cancelled (along with the re-release of TEOF)

Pixie lott is going head to head with Joe and Taylor swift :( oh pixie, pixie, pixie :(
I don't think Taylor Swift is any sort of threat

Agreed. She's huge in America because Country is popular over there.

Country music isn't big here so I doubt Taylor will be a contender for #1 unless it gets a lot of Radio support (R1 included), TV airplay and good promo. I think 'Mine' will go low top 10 - maybe #7/#9.

If Joe and Pixie both perform Joe will no matter what get that number one! Pixie's re-release will also go up againgst Joe. Joe will win that again! I think Pixie should push it ahead or behind a week if she wishes for a 3rd number one? what do you think? If she released Coming home/Jason Derulo it would be so much closer!
I don't think Joe is in any way a cert for #1, I can see him doing a Leon Jackson. I think Please Don't Let Me Go has a chance of being bigger than whatever Joe's single is
But the thing is.. Pixie lott Broken Arrow is brilliant! And Joe will defeat this ! i hope they both perform and have the same promotion. If Pixie won simon would hate her.. i think Miley will perform who owns my heart as she's finished the video.
simon seems to really love miley i mean she performed in 2008 xfactor, 2009 the climb was the winner song, she performed on the last 3 years of american idol, and performed on BGT :D. i hope she mentors and performs this year. and i really hope diana vickers gets to perform

That's a bit ridiculous considering you have no idea what Joe's single will be like.
