Why do I keep alcohol in my room? :puke:

My posts in here weren't as bad as I'd feared, I only had to delete one which was essentially a drunken duplicate of a previous post.

You mean the duplicate without the typo?

Well at least you made another one to compensate. :D

(post, not typo)

Since it happened I've had three bits of recognition sent to my boss who's sent them all to the boss of the office. My direct boss thinks it's ridiculous, the main boss would quite happily have got rid of us both, no one likes her anyway. I've definitely enjoyed working for a year, I've met some great friends and I'm definitely in a better position to find work after I graduate, I do think I'm very good at my job.

That all sounds crap. Yeah, sleeping in reception does sound a bit weird to me but as long as your office isn't open to the public then I can't see as it would make that much difference - especially, as you say, when it's as a result of a company night out. We'd always make sure ours is on a Friday for these very reasons.

Oh well hopefully you'll manage to get through the next year with no further problems (especially if you're not actually on placement there and are back at uni!)

041|19:04:92|Prince and the New Power Generation 'Money Don't Matter 2 Night'

I think at the time I was actually trying to like Prince tracks which resulted in this making #1. I did buy the Diamonds And Pearls album and quite liked about half of it with this being the standout track for me at the time. In retrospect I do think this guy is extremely overrated.

UK Chart peak: #19

Do I still listen to it? Not at all.

042|26:04:92|Tori Amos 'Winter'

This was the beginning of a bit of a love affair for me, I remember hearing it when it entered the charts and thinking it was nice enough but after a few weeks had become a full on obsession track. It's just beautiful and very sad at the same time as she describes her relationship with her father set to an icy backdrop. Just lovely. This is a live version as the original video and track do not appear to be on youtube, most odd.

UK Chart peak: #25

Do I still listen to it? If you look at the ID thread, you'll find Tori listed as my favourite act... so yes, just the lots.

043|10:05:92|Michael Jackson 'In The Closet'

This is the type of Jacko song that I love, it's very pretentious but back then the beat was just so unusual that it had me hooked. I also liked the interplay between the female vocal and his before the chorus kicks in and it feels like a different song. Single #3 from the Dangerous album but still not the one I was referring to earlier as my favourite of his.

UK Chart peak: #8

Do I still listen to it? Yes, I only ever tend to listen to my home made CD-R best of and this made the cut.

044|17:05:92|Shakespear's Sister 'I Don't Care'

Follow up single to Stay, it was always going to struggle to live up to expectations. As it happens, I actually prefer this by some margin - from the opening scream through the danceable rhythm in the chorus through the evil version of Vogue style middle section to the throw it all back in finale. It's just great, one of my favourite tracks from my childhood.

UK Chart peak: #7

Do I still listen to it? Yes, I can still dance about and sing every word. :D

This one is probably a bit cringe in retrospect but I did think it was moving at the time! Clearly it's not really but the story of someone being wrongfully accused of a crime before being hunted down is at least an unusual subject for a song and musically it is quite nice even if it's nothing groundbreaking.

UK Chart peak: #3

Do I still listen to it? Not through choice but it's another that I would enjoy if it comes on one of the music channels.

One of my all time favourite Prince tracks. Some of his best lyrics

Easily one of her best

Great little tune this one

I don't mind this one which is not something I would say about Jacko very often. Really like the video though

Anyway, time to drag this back up again as I have been very slack with it lately...

045|07:06:92|Erasure 'ABBA-Esque EP'

Time for more Erasure, this time it's their only real UK #1 and the camp as anything set of ABBA covers. This was a four track EP which included Lay All Your Love On Me, S.O.S, Take A Chance On Me and Voulez Vous - somehow the EP seems to be remembered for the video to Take A Chance On Me where they dragged it up a bit even though it was actually Lay All Your Love On Me that was played on the radio at the time and was the lead track - this one remains my favourite on the EP being my ABBA track of choice also.

UK Chart peak: #1

Do I still listen to it? I occasionally listen to Lay All Your Love On Me but haven't dug the rest of the EP out in quite a while, the MC Kinky ( :manson: ) rap on Take A Chance On Me being particularly poor.

046|19:07:92|Was (Not Was) 'Shake Your Head'

Probably the most unlikely record that Ozzy Osbourne has ever leant his vocals to but he did indeed team up with Kim Bassinger to provide the vocals to the original Was (Not Was) track. It's quite tacky I guess but I did really like it when it was out, I don't think I realised who either vocalist was back then either.

UK Chart peak: #4

Do I still listen to it? No although I did enjoy just playing it now. :D

047|02:08:92|Michael Jackson 'Who Is It?'

We finally reach my favourite Michael Jackson song of all time. I'm not sure whether most people even remember this one but it was the fourth single to be lifted from Dangerous, people never seemed to catch on to it though and it would take the frankly hideous Heal The World to revive the album's fortunes again. Ah well, the beat on this one is amazing and, at the time, it was quite novel to have a beat made of vocal samples but the layering of it over the synths and choir before it all kicks in together towards the end is just magnificent. Absolutely love this.

UK Chart peak: #10

Do I still listen to it? Absolutely. There's actually two versions of the song that I adore, the original album version above and also the version that was on the single I bought which is below - I love the beat in the former but the piano sections in the latter are also great even if the beat sounds a bit dated now.

Did you ever hear Bjorn Again's Erasure-esque EP? Great version of Stop on it and if I remember correctly A Little Respect?
