Posted August 25, 201014 yr GOSH. Less than two months after the departure of series 5, series 6 starts next Wednesday (with the sequel-episode on Thursday)! :drama: Oh, and they've already started filming series SEVEN (look out for my lil' sis - she's an extra :P). So yes, discuss the upcoming series and PLEASE use spoiler tags regarding any unshown footage. :D
August 25, 201014 yr Oh my God. Theo, I didn't watch series 5 after about half way through - when it came back from that LONG break I think I watched one episode and not the rest. Do I need to catch up on it before series 6 starts or is it not worth it? Bear in mind I didn't actually enjoy series 5 that much for the most part. I wish it wasn't so focused on the younger students nowadays. :( It used to be so much darker/more adult. What happened to Steph, Rachel and Kim? They've all left now, right?

What was the last episode of series 5 you watched? The ending was very damp. Ruby went all madly in love with Adam then ruined their wedding cake (Adam proposed to Rachel) and then they all made up. The final scenes were of the school prom. So basically - DON'T WATCH IT. It's boring as $h!t. :( I hope the new series is good. Well - Janeece is in it so it MUST be good! :cheer:
August 25, 201014 yr Waterloo Road has really gone down the drain to be honest. Compare series 5 with the brilliant first 2 series's and they're completly different shows. The show should focus primarily on the teachers and the sixth formers (if necesarily) but series 5's focus shifted towards the year 10's and it was just unwatchable to be honest. Damp squid of a last episode and a p***-poor exit storyline for Rachel (and Steph/Kim if thats the last we've seen of them). I might give the first few episodes of this a try just to see if they've at least tried to improve.
August 25, 201014 yr LOL I think the last episode I watched was when Roz was RANDOMLY beginning to get a crush on Jo Lipsett. I've just read on wikipedia that Michaela and Jo left at the end of the series as well as Rachel, Kim and Steph. So it's basically an all-new cast. I might not even watch... It hasn't been properly great since series 3 anyway.
August 25, 201014 yr Its back rather quick :o Well it did get moved about for 4/5 weeks for the World Cup and for blinking Holby City one week because of David Cameron beginning to destroy us...
August 25, 201014 yr Let's hope this series doesn't take 10 months to air :P Last series was the worst by some margin - I was hoping there'd be more of Rose and the first 10 episodes were totally inconsistent with the last 10 - what happened to Mikela saying she was going to fight for Lindsey to be freed? That wasn't mentioned at all - each episode seemed to focus around one of the random students we'd never seen before, the on going storylines were predictable and pretty weak - it wasn't 'must see' viewing like some of the previous series' have been.
August 25, 201014 yr Well I didn't know until seeing this thread that it was back so soon. Was expecting October like last year! Great news. Hope Amanda Burton makes a good head.
August 25, 201014 yr I still enjoy it (or the bits I watch), it's just gone WAY downhill. Have you watched from the start? It's not the same show that it used to be by any means. It used to be so dark. I remember the first season was all about Lorna contemplating committing suicide - now all we ever get is miserable students who are the centre of an episode and then never get seen again! And the tone is far too light, like it's pandering to a young teenage audience when it never used to.
August 25, 201014 yr Yeah i've watched from the start, I do agree its not like it was then. I miss alot of the old characters.
August 25, 201014 yr i watched it from day one too, It has been better but I feel it peaked with Rachel in it :( I think it will go downhill without her.
August 25, 201014 yr Is Denise Welch and Angela Griffin in the new series, or have they gone now?
August 25, 201014 yr Angela is gone i think, Denise is in a few episodes i believe. Oh Ok, Thanks :) I don't know whether i can be bothered getting into this series tbh. The finale of Season 5 was a total disappointment imo, so i might just give it a miss this time, especially when Denise and Angela aren't in it... Edited August 25, 201014 yr by Chriss_S
August 25, 201014 yr Looks like i'm alone but I actually enjoyed the last series. I did too. I've enjoyed every series.
August 25, 201014 yr I gave up on this part way through the fourth series. The first two series were brilliant, the third was still very good, and while series four started off okay it just didn't seem to be going anywhere, and it then had a massive break (i think) that or thats when it changed from thursday nights to wednesday nights (or vice versa) just lost me. Looking at the story lines that were in the fifth series I am glad i didn't bother with it tbh. This is a show that was once amazing but now is just in a premant rut.
