In what vidcapper is right it's that we can't imply the former McFly's success to the modern period as the whole chart climate is now COMPLETELY different to what it was when they got their #1s.

The video is so expensive-wannabe but still seems cheap.

This!!!!

I think it's going to peak at #3. Would possibly have a chance at #1 if released at a quieter time, but on it's release date theres a lot of tough competiton.

Lmao at the person who voted top 20 - are you for real? :P

#1 I think, if not then definately top 3.

The trouble with McFly, is that they have never really expanded their Fan Base.

That's why they've had several No.1's, but could not hold onto the No.1 spot

for more than 1 Week with most of them. Indeed, there was usually quite a drop

- from No.1 - in Week 2.

I think that their new Single is better than their usual stuff. They are clearly

hoping to appeal to a wider audience. However, they may also alienate many of

their older Fans with their 'new sound'. We will see.

The truth is that it isn't how high McFly enter the Chart that matters - it is where

they are in Week 2 that reveals their real success - or lack of.....

I'll say Top 20 for this one.

I'm not too sure of the longevity / staying power yet. You know McFly. LOL

p.s. I'm starting to like this.

Yes, yes and yes. I will slightly disagree about only the "week 2" as e.g. 'The Wanted' dropped 1-5 on their second week but still managed to do 4 weeks in the top-10 which is the definition of the massive hit for me. Actually this approves not only to McFly - but to quite a lot of other this year's front-loaded releases.

#1

It's McFly - and it's an extremely strong comeback single.

How many sales do you think???

40k perhaps - with which they'll be lucky to scrape T5 nowadays...

Would anyone care to guess at their 2nd week position? :P

I would say #18.

I'm going to say #9 in week 2. It is a stronger song, and it is definitely appealing to new fans. Therefore I don't think the typical MFly drop will be as big as usual.

On the subject of the second week, I think its got a better chance than usual to stay up quite high. I'm a fan of theirs, but I'm actually doubting this track will get to number 1 with the high sales that have achieved that place recently. However, I think, despite the fact it has been A listed on Radio 1, a lot of non-fans have failed to really hear it enough yet to decide if it appeals to them. Personally, I've never seen the music video on the music channels yet as they always seem to have those chart shows on like the UK top 40 etc. If the song charts well more people will hear it and I think this song more than any of McFly's before has the ability to appeal to a wider audience. Fingers crossed for them that it'll stay top 10 for at least a couple of weeks after it charts. Just one extra week top 10 would be brilliant for them.

I think it stands quite a good chance of being number 1

The Guys have gone away for almost 2 years and worked on the album

I think this album will bring in a whole lot of new fans and now the fans are alot older i think they will be better as a download act too.

From their concerts lately it looks as if they have lost alot of the younger fans

I've heard Party Girl played on Radio1 about 6 or 7 times this week and have seen it on the Box quite a bit and was number 4 yesterday in their chart.

They do lack Tv promotion though with only magic numbers so far but they will be performing 'Party Girl' (and Possibly another track) this sunday on Alan Carr

and the lastever GMTV next Friday so that could help

They have done a lot of radio promo though

Lies fell from 4-17 but did enter the chart at 23

The heart never lies fell from 3-10 and then 22 in the 3rd week

Infact Only One for the radio,t*****/Baby's coming back, sorry's not good enough,Ballad of paul k(entered chart at 9) fell out of the top 10 on the 2nd week

Room on the third floor from 2004 fell from 5-16 but that was the 4th single from their double platinum album

Do ya only made 18 but that was apoor single, hardly any promotion and the fact it was from the album given away free in the mail

Hmm. I don't know if they're going to pull in many new fans, and are a lot of their 04-05 fans going to buy McFly songs these days? Maybe. I think potentially around 35k and #7. If this is going to chart in mid-September then won't it be in an increased sales climate? Summer always used to be quieter for sales although I don't know if that's the same now with downloads.

If they had released in July maybe challenge for the #1 but would they realistically have sold the 60k+ that you need to have a serious shot at #1 most weeks? Probably not.

We've had some huge sales weeks this summer. McFly are released next week with as tough competition as hell! Alexandra, Alesha, the Script and many other major songs are released that week too.

Mcfly perform On tonights Alan Carr:Chatty Man

and the Lottery Saturday night plus the lastever GMTV on Friday so that could help

They had a sell out concert yesterday which seemed to have gone down well

and had the crowd of all ages singing along to some of their older songs aswell as Party girl and there was a preview of some album tracks too

I think they still have a big enough fanbase to help but if they don't make number 1 with party girl im sure they will have a bigseller off this album at some point

I predict a peak of #03.

I think the order will go next week:

01. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

02. Olly Murs - Please Dont Let Me Go

03. Mcfly - Party Girl

04. Alexandra Burke - Start Without You

05. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

06. Eminem ft Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie

07. The Script - For The First Time

08. Alesha Dixon - Drummer Boy

09. Flo Rida - Club Cant Handle Me

10. Travie McCoy - Billionaire

Party Girl is doing quite well on iTunes chart #14. It has rised alot already. It's doing rather well by McFly's standards.
