I wasn't too keen on this season initially but the last few episodes have been brilliant (I do love Parker Posey). Apparently we have two more deaths before the season finale!

I'd say Sean could be one of them (especially how the last episode ended) and obviously Lee.

Yay!, this show has just been renewed for a ten part third season :-))
Not loving season 2 so far, although I haven't managed to find links for the last few episodes - killing Marlene was a big mistake, I assume it was initially meant to be a 1 season thing. Season 2 has definitely shifted from dramadey to almost pure drama and we must all remember, that's what killed United States of Tara :o.

Sad episode! Laura Linney was incredible and just reminded me how much she deserved the Emmy on Sunday! Interesting promo for the finale next week too...

Pretty obvious that would happen from the moment they introduced his character, but I didn't expect it to be that... graphic and sad :(

HOW ON EARTH DID SHE NOT GET THE EMMY. Gosh.

Really looking forward to the finale next week.

Fantastic ending, I loved how from the preview I was expecting something to happen to Cathy but instead happened to

'Gobsmacked' in a good way, Ryan? :o

Brilliant ending. Cannot wait for the next season to see if the thing that happened in the end actually happened because it may have not.

The saddest thing was to see Lee die though. :(

I don't even know what to think about the next series and what is going to happen and everything.

I didn't find this finale as moving as the season 1 finale but it was still good. It's going to be interesting to see how things develop now in season 3.
I hope they can wrap the series up within the next couple of seasons (hopefully the next one), I can't see it lasting any longer I'm afraid and I really want a proper ending. Plus the one-calendar-season/per-season is not happening as we're already into winter.

That ending was so sad :( not quite as moving as season 1 though. I'm assuming the 10 part Season 3 will be the final part, an actress like Laura Linney will be difficult to keep on board for long, imo.

She was robbed of the Emmy, no offence to Melissa McCarthy but 'Mike and Molly' is beyond dire, it should've been Linney or Amy Pohler!

Oh my GOD at that final scene, I sort of expected it to happen after about episode 8 or so when

Paul starting working out, using the scales and doing the drugs

but it was so well done. If I was a betting man, I would say

they haven't actually killed him off

.

Also re. the length of the series, she's going through the 5 stages of grief, isn't she? So that would seem like they planned it for 5 seasons, of course that all depends on ratings and whether Laura wants to keep doing it if that is the case.

It actually makes sense. Next season - bargaining it is!

They've planned four seasons, one for every season.

Summer.

Autumn/Winter.

Winter/Spring.

Summer/Cathy probably dies.

If this show gets its final 4th season I will need to buy lots of tissues.

Oh I see, well that makes sense too, the 5 stages thing could still be part of the story anyway.

I'm not sure I'll be able to COPE as things get more emotional, the first series finale is the saddest thing I have ever watched on TV.

I don't think Cathy is going to die in the end, I think we'll get a happy ending. They should an alternative ending though :)
See, I was thinking the same thing given how everything else has worked out and now with the potential situation at the end of this series it would be a really lovely ending. By the same token though, everything so far has been misery, misery, misery so they might just continue with that theme.
I'd rather Cathy died. It'd be a much more believable ending.

I hope the show does get closure - but the ratings aren't spectacular - even for Showtime ;(.

EDIT: Actually it does pretty well, not in Dexter's league but level with 'Nurse Jackie' - so it should be fine.
