Posted August 28, 201014 yr Their eighth studio album. Produced by Tony Hoffer There's probably nobody as excited as me. It's been four years since 'The Love Pursuit', album I still love. They have been playing 'I Didn't See It Coming' on their tour. It's a great track. Those who say B&S are over can just go to... :P Edited August 28, 201014 yr by SKOB
September 7, 201014 yr Author Stream: http://www.belleandsebastian.com/newsstory.php?id=515 AMAZING as expected
October 8, 201014 yr Author Nobody else interested in this? The album has got some great reviews: Guardian 4/5 Daily Mail 4/5 However, some people think it's a bit mediocre and lack truly memorable songs. 'I Want the World to Stop' is said being the best track. I won't listen to it until I've bought my copy.
October 9, 201014 yr Belle & Sebastian are a band that I should reallt get into, although the few songs I've heard I've enjoyed (I'm a Cuckoo, The Blues Are Still Blue). I downloaded Write About Love, and it's a great song. I think they're more popular than they've ever been, so hopefully this album will be a success for them.
October 11, 201014 yr They have always been sooooo over-rated. I really don't think my life is poorer because I am not into them. Write About Love is just a 2nd rate 60s pastiche.
October 11, 201014 yr The Life Pursuit was a frankly amazing album that deserved much more success than it managed, I've bought the new one today but haven't had chance to listen to it yet. There hasn't been much hype around it so I'm not expecting it to be able to match the quality of TLP.
October 11, 201014 yr Author I think it will be among their worst three albums but better than Storytelling and Fold Your Hands.. For me, it's enough that they're back.
October 12, 201014 yr Author Pitchfork gave 8,2. That's brilliant! "For the most part, though, Write About Love is a consolidation of Belle and Sebastian's strengths, rather than an expansion into new territory. Murdoch is still writing long, curly, elegant melodies-- "Come on Sister", in particular, is a magnificent piece of construction."
October 12, 201014 yr Author Midweeks: #7 Not bad, not brilliant Their best is #8 (The Life Pursuit, 2006)
October 13, 201014 yr Author Oh Jesus I cried when I first listen to this album. It's beyond brilliant. Very close to perfect.
October 22, 201014 yr Author The charm hasn't worn off...I love it from start to finish. Couple of more ok-ish tracks but overall very solid.. And so Belle and Sebastian  Edited October 22, 201014 yr by SKOB
October 23, 201014 yr After a few listens, I'm now really enjoying this album too. I could live without a couple of the slower tracks (namely Calculating Bimbo and Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John) but the rest of it is really well constructed and quite fun, I especially love the structure of I Want The World To Stop with the reversal of the standard verse/chorus structure.
October 23, 201014 yr Author 'Real World' is probably the worst track but it's not that bad either. The opener 'I Didn't See It Coming' is probably my favourite at the moment.
October 23, 201014 yr I like the opening track too and I love the music in it, especially when it kicks in a bit more half way through.
