MINE: I know of her existence. I liked Almost Here, and I love Electric Storm. I can remember the chorus to Believe Again and Together We Are One, thanks to the BJSC, but that's about it. I've basically forgotten about her 2003 output due to the ravages of time. SO, given the task at hand, I'm going to work under the assumption that I'm actually a Deltaholic. I just don't know it yet. I therefore have three albums to work my way through (thank you Spotify!): Innocent Eyes Mistaken Identity Delta That shouldn't be too hard, should it? I'm sure I could knock together some track-by-track reviews. So, what are your prejudices and what are you going to do about them?
August 31, 201014 yr I like Delta, as controversial as that statement may be (until Rich gets here anyway.) My sister was a big fan and as her brother, I refused to believe she was anything but utter $h!te. When I came to uni though I found myself listening to a lot of her songs and I have a LOT OF TIME for her. I'd rate 'Lost Without You' as one of THE forgotten classics by Australian actresses-turned-songstresses.
August 31, 201014 yr I wouldn't class Delta as one of my most favourite artists, but I have all three albums, plus 6 singles. The first album contained great singles, but I didn't really think that much of the album itself. Mistaken Identity had better album tracks. Electric Storm being one of them is also my favourite song of hers. The third album gets a little bit of criticism from what I can remember reading, but I really liked it! A good range of tunes, and Believe Again is simply majestic!
September 1, 201014 yr I fell in love with Delta when i was in Aus, and have the Australian editions of her 3 albums [still with A$ price tags :kink: as i am sad] i have the UK CD/DVD version of Mistaken Identity and both her tour DVD's. I do love Delta quite a bit. She really clicked with me when i went to Australia Zoo [My flatmate who is a big Delta Fan said i couldn't leave Aus without going so we got tickets and drove up to the Sunshine Coast.] fab day out, and on the way home she had her iPod on in the car and we have very little common ground musically, i eventually suggested Delta an she took me through all her faves and gave me lots of little bits of background info on the cd's. Every time i listen to Delta i'm right back in that Toyota, ill, but having a bloody good day.
September 1, 201014 yr I only heard like 3 of her songs, one of which i charted back in 2007 (i think). That is all :(
September 1, 201014 yr Delta Delta Delta...she changed my life. I was going through a bit of an identity crisis in 2003, with the death of commercial dance in the charts (when Ultrabeat are the best dance act around in any given calendear year, you know it's time to worry). Prior to this I was a huge dance fan, but not so much pop. Anyway, I was in my final few months of high school when the gorgeous Born To Try came out. The simple, yet then dramatic (after the key change) piano ballad instantly became my favourite song of the year, although at first mainly because I was amused at her strange name! I forgot about her for a few months until Lost Without You surfaced, which I also liked. The week of her album release co-incided with me getting my first pay check from my first job. So I decided to buy an album - and that album was Innocent Eyes by Delta Goodrem. I had my discman with me (MODERN!) and listened to it on the way home. I knew that this was my favourite album of all time instantly. A fusion of great lightweight piano and guitar pop, and more downbeat slower ballads, it's almost like it was tailored to appeal to a part of my music tastes that I didn't really know existed - the singer/songwriter part. The following day I heard that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was absolutely devestated - how could she be taken so soon? Thank god she survived it and unleashed my 2nd favourite album of all time 18 months later, the absolutely epic, in theory and in scale, Mistaken Identity. The two singles Out Of The Blue and Almost Here, as much as I adore them, are not at all representative of a very dark album. The likes of Extraordinary Day, Mistaken Identity and Electric Storm instantly hit home, and all three are now easily three of my favourite songs of all time. A loooooong gap followed and she finally returned in 2007 with the fantastic In This Life from 3rd album Delta. I loved it but then when I got the album, 'the Delta effect' hit me once again - the level where she excelled over everybody else around. And this was with Believe Again, a 6 minute stunner, with some of the best, most gorgeous production I've ever heard on a commercial pop song. Absolutely incredible. The rest of the album had its moments but it was easily her weakest/most fillery collection to date. Aside from this though, I love her personality, she's not exactly hideous to look at and her music has been with me through some of the most important moments of my life, and always evokes memories. Stunning.
September 1, 201014 yr So i'm listening to Innocent Eyes. Gosh, it's INCREDIBLE. I won't be surprised that in a year i will be sharing the same Top 2 albums of all time with you Rich :kink:

September 1, 201014 yr She had the second best post cancer album of recent times - behind Anastacia. I'm yet to hear Mistaken Identity but i agree that 'Anastacia' album is amazing. I'd also say that 'X' was quite decent for a comeback. 'Nu-Di-Ty' :kink:
