April 28Apr 28 So after millions of TBATE memes (ngl i feel sorry to the novel & webcomic fans) 4 weeks of another pretty solid anime season, here are some of my picks (though I have to exclude Cowboy Bebop 2.0 Lazarus until they are available outside Adult Swim):To Be Hero X. Though it's donghua (Chinese animation), it still involves many Japanese producers—Hiroyuki Sawano produced the music—and Crunchyroll surprisingly are investing in this. It's about superheroes who gain power by increasing people's trust. The series don't have any fixed protagonist, but all the character arcs will be connected to each other. Looking forward to the future of donghua—I can see this thread is getting its title expanded to "Anime & Donghua" in a couple of years.Kowloon Generic Romance. It's some kind of sci-fi romance anime filled with many interesting mysteries in it. The FMC, Reiko Kujirai, feels like she originally wasn't living as Kujirai, and people who know who Kujirai is also feel she isn't the same Reiko Kujirai they knewWitch Watch. Definitely just your another samey Weekly Shounen Jump adaptation, but it's currently my favorite new anime so far. Basically, there's a teenage witch girl living with her ogre familiar, but there will be more mythological familiars in the future. It's a comedy supernatural series by the same author of SKET Dance, so it's safe to say there might be lots of other anime, Gintama, and SKET Dance references in the future.

June 14Jun 14 One of Boruto animators said that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will contain no anime originals and fillers. As an honest Boruto enjoyer, this is a huge disappointment. I've been reading and watching Boruto since its hatred reached its peak, but what Ikemoto has been writing in the manga at the moment is just bad. Bad pacing, bad storyboarding, mid visuals, and just too many plot holes. The anime, which is now below a 6/10 star rating, handled the filler episodes decently. I love many characters who appeared exclusively in the anime and its spin-offs. I do give Two Blue Vortex manga 8/10, but when they're doing a 1-1 adaptation, it will be no better than the original Boruto anime. I haven't watched both FMA animes, though (and will probably prefer Brotherhood to 2003), but I'd rather have Boruto going the 2003 route instead of the Brotherhood one because Ikemoto's writing is 3 planets far from Arakawa-sensei.....They clearly don't learn from Bleach where, from what I heard, the TYBW adaptations contained plenty of anime originals (but yeah, that couldn't be compared since it's beyond Kubo's own supervision). June 22Jun 22 Kaguya-sama: Love is War - The Stairs to Adulthood has been announced!TV Special, according to MAL? Maybe. Haven't continued the first season though, but I knew the plane reference lol.
June 22Jun 22 Oh that's interesting, I thought it had come to a pretty nice conclusion with the end of the 3rd season.unbelievably funny show and well worth completing so I may actually keep an eye out for that (have not been doing the same for any recent anime releases)
June 26Jun 26 Thrilled to introduce a new anime that has safely secured a place on my all-time Top 10 or 25 favourites list: Apocalypse HotelIt's an original anime by CygamesPictures, the same studio that worked on Umamusume (movies and Cinderella Gray), that isn't adapted from manga or light novels, which is about a hotel during the post-apocalyptic era of planet Earth run by a hotelier robot.Everything I watched here reminded me of the wholesomeness shown in WALL-E, which is arguably one of the best Pixar movies, too. While the anime's genre is mainly sci-fi, each episode will contain a secondary genre, such as (shounen) action, slice-of-life, romance (love status quo, mostly), drama, and a little bit of thriller.Though it's currently available only on Crunchyroll, I do encourage everyone to try the anime if it's coming to Netflix or Disney+! June 26Jun 26 A seasonal Black Clover anime sequel might be announced next week:Bruh I've literally just watched only 3 Black Clover episodes so far, and all the big Pierrot projects 'forced' me to catch up with both this and Bleach ASAP.
July 3Jul 3 Dandadan Season 2 is airing now!(yes, I've completed S1 already but it's still far from being a shounen masterpiece as other fans said)
July 5Jul 5 Some news to several blockbusters:Following the end of its 2nd season, The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) immediately announces Season 3. The anime has adapted the first 4/16 volumes of the light novel so far.Isekai classic Gate Season 2 gets an anime adaptation with Studio M2 as the animation studio.Cyberpunk: Edgerunners get a sequel with a total of 10 episodes. The final season of Bleach will be airing in 2026 with 7 anime-original episodes (2003 FMAB route?).
July 6Jul 6 New trailers are coming from Frieren: Beyond The Journey's End, Season 3 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, and the return of Black Clover (which is probably going for a seasonal release)! Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) manga, from the author of Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiromu Arakawa, is also getting an anime adaptation. Edited July 6Jul 6 by CowTzy
July 12Jul 12 Takopi's Original Sin (Takopii no Genzai), the new psychological sci-fi anime that is serving as my current thumbnail, is certainly becoming the most discussed and debated new anime at the moment. The topic is extremely controversial and disturbing, but somehow I could respect it as a piece of art. Those who are looking for anti-mainstream, non-tropey anime, even more unique than DAN DA DAN, might consider checking out Takopi. It will only have 6 episodes, and so far it has reached Episode 3. If you want to binge-watch the entire series on Netflix, it's recommended to wait until the middle of August.
