Posted September 1, 201014 yr No thread for this yet? Meh. Why not. F6ZfA5QZDHY New single by N.E.R.D (off the back of Pharrell's #7 hit One (Your Name) with Swedish House Mafia) taken from their upcoming album 'Nothing'. Features Nelly Furtado (otherwise it wouldn't be in this forum EH?) Currently #37 on iTunes. Opinions? I don't like it that much, N.E.R.D have had much better in the past
September 1, 201014 yr It's alright. It doesn't really do anything though if you know what I mean. Like, once the song's finished you think "what did I just listen to?" very unmemorable.
September 1, 201014 yr #36 on iTunes. :( FAR FAR too low. Edited September 1, 201014 yr by Chriss_S
September 5, 201014 yr Well I can't say this is hugely inspiring. The track is simply disposable. Totally throwaway and unmemorable. Clearly it's not going to be rivalling She Wants To Move or Maneater to become each act's signature tune. Sadly N.E.R.D. haven't been pioneers in their genre for a good few years now. They became largely irrelevant after the Timbaland urban takeover in '06. Nelly's appearance also adds VERY little. Like Frank says, she seems to be shouting her way through her neglible contribution, rather than singing. Still, it might serve to remind the couple of thousand people who bought this, that Nelly Furtado still exists (has it really been four years since Loose?) The video's fun and colourful enough I guess, but I don't think Nelly can really claim ANY credit for that.
September 5, 201014 yr So this entered the chart at #49 today. Not fantastic, and probably unlikely to climb much higher. HO HUM Better hurry with that new album Nelly.
