I always thought SOF actually stood up to the mass overexposure it got rather better than US did, I can barely listen to the latter now.

 

I'm the opposite, I'll still happily listen to Use Somebody but Sex on Fire (which I never really liked anyway) gets less bearable every time I hear it, which is about 6 times a day somewhere or other.

Totally agreed, 'Use Somebody' is in a class way above that other song which is throwaway and disposable. It's instantly catchy but doesn't have lasting appeal, it got even more annoying than 'Rockstar' in the end.

Thankfully Rockstar's overplaying seemed to end by the end of 2008, and I rarely hear it now. Sex On Fire, sadly, is still the 'token rock anthem of choice' on every commercial radio station.

I don't hate Sex on Fire - nor so I love it. It would probably get a 3/10 from me. Use Somebody however is 2 - it's the vocals and the style of song that really annoys me. It reminds of Curtis Stigers and that ain't good.

I like the gospel sound but there's nothing... jump out special.

Radioactive i suddenly changed my mind on, don't even listen to it now.

Well on a few more listens it's actually not that bad, quite chillout and some very good tracks towards the end.

The Face is ANTHEMIC. <3

Waw. Radioactive is really a rubbish track. Annoyed every time it's on. The End and Back Down South are decent though. Can't decide whether to give this album a try or not.

Well I actually quite like the album. I kind of like that it's not like Only By The Night where there's nothing that REALLY stands out after a few listens. It's very chillout like JamesP already said. The Face i'm sure will be the next single, but my personal favourite is Pickup Truck :wub:

I was just shopping for some music in Fopp a while ago and I heard the first few tracks from this album on the speakers. The first few tracks seem to be nice. Yeah, very chillout.
