News came today of The Human League's first album in over nine years as it was being mastered at The Exchange in London by Mike Marsh. Marsh's previous credits have included Depeche Mode and The Chemical Brothers and also The League's last album Secrets in 2001. The working titles of the album's songs which may be subject to change are:

01. Never Let Me Go

02. Night People

03. Sky

04. Got To Do

05. Egomaniac

06. Single Minded

07. Electric Shock

08. Get Together

09. Privilige

10. Breaking The Chains

11. Stars Start To Shine

It is believed that Night People is to be the first single. No release date has yet been confirmed by label Wall Of Sound Records for the so far untitled album but it will be out in time on to coincide with their forthcoming winter tour (December).

One of my favourite bands from the 80s, they were known as The Dead Daughters and The Future before adopting the name Human League, also a bit of chart trivia, Human League was derived from the game Starforce: Alpha Centauri, a science fiction wargame.

I know quite a bit about them :D

Sound Of The Crowd is my favourite track of theirs, along with Open Your Heart and the #1 single Don't You Want Me. The Dare era I really loved.

Got every album of theirs

I love them too. Really hope they return to the sound they had around the Travelogue era, Marianne and Crow And A Baby are immense!
Like a bit of HL, Sound Of The Crowd is my fave of theirs too.

They are also my fave British band of the 80s

I have all their albums from Reputation apart from their Compilations and Remixes. Also the Holiday 80 EP.

My fave tracks are Sound Of The Crowd and Things That Dreams Are Made Of.

I also have all their singles including both the originals of Being Boiled and Empire State Human on the FAST label.

I even have a copy of I Don't Depend On You which they recorded as THE MEN.

Looking forward to hearing the new album, it's good to have them back.

I must be the only one who loved Octopus, but it's actually one of my favorite albums of the 90s.

Excited for new material!

Absolutely love this band  The single is out on November 22 (pretty much the worst choice possible, but anyway...) and the album Credo is out in March:

Kind of Sound Of The Crowd 2010, but I really like the last section...

Stunning return to form, love the new track. Really hope it goes at least Top 40 for them.

Night People is the best track they've released for years and years

The remixes are on YouTube, too - check the Emperor Machine remix - PHENOMENAL!!!! And the Cerrone mix is pretty special, too.
Yep, the Emperor Machine mix is awesome, sounds like Giorgio Moroder :) I like the video, but first Pet Shop Boys, now this - why aren't 80s singers appearing in their own videos anymore?

a vanity thing, I reckon.... PSB and HL are both in their 50s now. PSB usually make incredible videos, though, bar London and Home and Dry, of course :(
