Alexandra!!!!

Wonder what her lead is!

It was 10k in the Tuesday mids, and given that she's been in the lead on iTunes ever since then, and also has physicals compared with Katy Perry @ #2, I'd guess the lead has increased and is now sitting close to 15k.

Linkin Park climbing, didnt expect that at all, think they could keep top 40 now :)

McFly seem to be very front-loaded, I wonder if this song will do the trademark 'McFly-drop' in the second week that their other singles

I'm so desperate for Brandon's album sales! :( I really hope (although it's HIGHLY unlikely) he can manage over 100k :(

Yes i don't think it will hang around very long tbh and this song was allways going to be tricky

and i think some of the other singles will do better including their next one

top 10 is still brilliant and hope they can hang on to that come sunday

I wouldn't say they've done bad seeing as their last single entered at number 18 and they've been away for 2 years

:w00t:

I guess their fans have now finally hit puberty & are concentrating on *real* boys... :P

I wonder if The XX are close enough to climb even further by Sunday?

It isn' the first time they have missed the top 5 or top 10 for that matter

He'll get 50k if he's lucky.

But have they had as strong a competition as they have this week.

I think their sales will mark the success of the single, rather than it's chart position. If it's 30 - 40k in this first week, it will seem that McFly are selling the same amount as they were two years ago.

no the comp has been weaker and also they seem to be doing fairly well on i tunes

'One for the Radio'? It got to #2.

I'm glad 'Party Girl' went top-10, I hope it will fall only into the top-20 next week, and judging how the iTunes version is holding up - it's quite possible!

I can't believe 'Party Girl' is selling well at all, given that McFly have completely changed their musical style from pop-rock to a dance/pop one to reflect the current musical landscape. But fangirls will be fangirls...

Delighted to see The Script move into the top 5 and pushing McFly out at the same time.

Happy with Kylie's album position aswell, hope it keep climbing now.

To be fair, Sugababes cleared 100K with Get Sexy, About A Girl and Wear My Kiss - and look what happened to Sweet 7.

Yes it is too early, but if this keeps dropping throughout the week, and drops alot next week - then it's gonna look likely they'll become the male Sugababes

I'm amazed that anyone who has same difference in their banner is suggesting a band should give up due to lack of interest or sales.

Mcfly and the babes (well those 3 girls anyway) have earned the right to have ups and downs after several successful campaigns. I think their days of guaranteed no1 leads is clearly over now. They're not new urban acts so they'll be no 1st week sell out

But then Same Difference are on a much smaller independent label - both Mcfly and Sugababes are on a massive label, who aren't exactly gonna be happy (to put it mildly) that they'll continue to slip down the midweek chart. Same Difference have had limited promo - Mcfly and Sugababes when releasing are on all the shows possible that will let them sing and they also have heavy rotation on the music channels and radio. The majority of the public know when a Mcfly and Sugababes song is released, most people wouldn't know a Same Difference song was released last week. So really, that remark is void

And how have either band earned the right? Mcfly have never sold well - just took advantage of low sales in the low sales period, and only 1 Sugababe of the current lot has achieved any sort of success with Amelle briefly glimsing success on a record with Girls Aloud and the other with the last Sugababes #1 back in 2007.

Hurrah for Hurts !

They must have a big lead if the XX are stuck behind them, I can't see them falling lower than #4 now :cheer:

Hurts really deserve to do well, I love their sound.

Amazing that Alex is still no.1. I wish we knew her lead.

She hasn't budged from no.1 on iTunes though, so that's a great sign for no.1 on Sunday.

Headlines is having great holds for the Saturdays. 3-8-13-15
