September 9, 201015 yr Pitbull, they have something against him (understandably) and therefore didn't go near All Night Long. That argument holds no weight and is irrelevant as there is a Pitbull less Solo All Night Long version that got to No 8 in the charts and most radio stations played that version.
September 9, 201015 yr Great to see The Tings Tings and Pixie Lott already! And about the whole Alexandra discussion, I also really don't understand why they won't playlist her even though she's likely to top the charts this week. But in the end, it's their decision and we can't do anything about, can we? Thankfully she gets a lot of support from other radio stations.
September 9, 201015 yr Or maybe they didn't playlist her new single as it's the worst song i've heard all summer and i'm exactly the sort of audience Radio One want to be hitting.
September 9, 201015 yr Or maybe they didn't playlist her new single as it's the worst song i've heard all summer and i'm exactly the sort of audience Radio One want to be hitting. Radio 1 have playlisted both Kesha and Justin Bieber this week. Integrity-FAIL. Are you a JBeebs fan? Besides those two, why should Drummer Boy have been playlisted ahead of this? Their way of picking songs seems completely arbitrary. Edited September 9, 201015 yr by sweetseven
September 9, 201015 yr Did they not playlist Enrique? Am positive they playlisted I Know You Want Me and Hotel Room Service? Besides, other stations played the album edit! They didn't playlist Enrique, I think, but I think they've playlisted Usher now. However, all 3 of the songs have non-rapping version, so it's not the end of the world if you're a Pitbull hater (I can't see why though, what has he done wrong?). I think the Alexandra does not need Radio 1 support arguement is valid, to an extent. There are some artists that commercial radio will not touch. Radio 1 supporting them is absolutely vital, if they want to sell; it's their only chance. All Night Long, deservedly, got an absolute ton of radio airplay, even without Radio 1 playlisting it. It was actually quite phenomenal. And Ke$ha, Justin Bieber and Drummer Boy aren't that bad.
September 9, 201015 yr Radio 1 have playlisted both Kesha And your point is...? Ke$ha's new song is better than the crap that is known as "Start Without You"
September 9, 201015 yr Intruth because Alexandra has come from X-factor she has a huge credibility gap.I think the more she has to rely on hard work, getting good promotion and not falling back on X-factor performances or R1 backing is better for her.I have nothing against R1 playlisting Alesha and Kesha who are both great Bieber could drop dead and would not be missed. They have yet to offer any valid reason why all her female contemporaries are playlisted Pixie, Ellie, Cheryl, Diana, Paloma, Florence and Marina yet Alex who is doing better sales and chart wise than nearly all of them is not.SWY is not her best by a long shot but it is No 1 and as a public service braodcaster the people have spoken and given the song their backing.
September 9, 201015 yr People need to realise they don't playlist based on the songs, but the artists themselves. They probably won't ever playlist Alexandra again, although I'll eat my words if any future singles of hers manage to get playlisted.
September 9, 201015 yr Realized that the reason that Radio 1 aren't bothering much with X Factor songs at the mo is probably cus it's BBC Radio 1, and Simon Cowell's been nasty to BBC recently

Maybe just maybe if she releases a solo single (JUST ON HER OWN!) she will get playlisted again. :P
September 9, 201015 yr Maybe just maybe if she releases a solo single (JUST ON HER OWN!) she will get playlisted again. :P That has nothing to do with it, at all.
September 9, 201015 yr That has nothing to do with it, at all. Maybe or not. It's just an observation. :P Broken Heels was playlisted and she was solo. But everyone to their own I guess. ^_^

September 9, 201015 yr 'U Smile' has had 4 weeks on the C-List? :o Even worse, I thought it had had 3.
September 9, 201015 yr Wow, The XX have been on the playlist for 12 weeks :o They'll reach 3x plat if still there next week which I'm sure they will cause of the Mercury Prize. LIstening to the Annie Nightingale Celebration on Radio 1 right now! :D
September 11, 201015 yr how can you put artists like marina and the diamonds and florence welsh in the same sentence as pixie lott, alex burke and cheryl cole.the latter are pure pop performers whereas florence etc are more indie pop!!
September 11, 201015 yr Maybe just maybe if she releases a solo single (JUST ON HER OWN!) she will get playlisted again. :P I dunno. If Alexandra did a collab with Tinie Tempah, or Ellie Goulding, or Dizzee Rascal, or Florence + The Machine she'd be a LOT more likely to be playlisted.
