I've given up on Stromae now, yet another big (and great) European hit that fails to go top 20 here despite my high expectations. How many more will there be :drama: You'd think the Kanye remix could have made top 100 on his name alone but it's not even top 200 :(

I've not given up on it yet. It charted at #38 on the Big Top 40 Show on Sunday (they played the Erik Hassle version), so hopefully more commercial radio stations will start playing it this week. But it looks set to fall a place judging by the mid-weeks. :(

Lack of exposure is one reason but it doesn't usually hinder a song so badly, it's been on the Radio 1 playlist for a while now but then the music channels barely play it 10 times a week between the lot of them. I don't go clubbing much but I'd assume it's played out in most places at the moment? I guess most people in the UK just don't like it :lol: I wouldn't be surprised if Radio 1 drop it tonight from the playlist, there's nowhere else it can go really short of a miracle (i.e. music channels and commercial radio jumping on board).

 

edit: yep, he's been removed. I can't blame them, it was clearly going nowhere - the interest just isn't there in the UK, shame.

I'm thinking though as its already #1 on US itunes i think definitely an october release, i think she'll still get an x factor slot but maybe nearer album releases rather then single release.

11th October also REALLY hectic week of releases. Really a very competitive time october/november/december!

There is absolutely no way Bruno Mars will be released on 4th October. If it's not out to buy within the next week I'll be stunned. And there's very little out so it will easily reach #1 too. His record company are beyond stupid if they leave it to 4th October at this point. :mellow:

Yeah, 11 Oct is massively busy too, 27 Sep is pretty busy as well (though not as busy as 4 Oct and 11 Oct)
