September 12, 201014 yr Surprisingly few UK Female Soloists have had 3 - or more - No.1 Singles. Alexandra is only the 5th! And, after Sandie Shaw had her 3rd No.1 (1967), no UK Female Soloist had 3 No.1's until the 2000's! And - as you can see - Geri Halliwell is the only UK Female Solo Artist to have had more than 3. UK FEMALE SOLO ARTISTS - WITH THE MOST No.1 SINGLES (To W/E 18th September 2010) 1) GERI HALLIWELL - 4 No.1 Singles (1999 to 2001) $$$ 2)=SANDIE SHAW - 3 No.1 Singles (1964 to 1967) 2)=BILLIE (PIPER) - 3 No.1 Singles (1998 to 2000) 2)=LEONA LEWIS - 3 No.1 Singles (2006 to 2008) @@@ 2)=ALEXANDRA BURKE - 3 No.1 Singles (2008 to 2010) £££ $$$ = Geri was also on 7 No.1 Singles with Spice Girls. She left that Group in May 1998, & their 7th No.1 - 'Viva Forever' - was in August 1998. But, it was from their 1997 Album, 'Spiceworld', & her vocals were on that Single. @@@ = Leona was also No.1 on the Charity Single, 'Everybody Hurts', by Helping Haiti, in 2010. £££ = Alexandra was also No.1 on the Charity Singles, 'Hero', by X Factor Finalists, (in 2008), & on 'Everybody Hurts', by Helping Haiti, in 2010.
September 12, 201014 yr Zeus, while you're here, I have a question for you. Why Don't You Love Me? is the 9th song to go top 75 from Beyoncé's album I Am... Sasha Fierce. (IIWAB, SL(PAROI), Halo, Diva, SD, Ego, VP, B-HG, WDYLM?) What's the record for most top 75 hits off 1 album? (Excluding things like Glee albums which cheat the system a bit) Edited September 12, 201014 yr by ~ braysephone ~

(Excluding things like Glee albums which cheat the system a bit) I didn't realise that Beyonce had, had so many Hits off her most recent Album. I believe that the only other Artist to have had 9 Top 75 Hits off one Album, is Michael Jackson. BEYONCE - 'Why Don't You Love Me' is the 9th UK Top 75 Hit from her, 'I Am...Sasha Fierce' Album. I believe that only 1 other Artist has had so many UK Hits from the same Album - Michael Jackson - who had 9 UK Hits off 2 Albums. So Beyonce becomes the 1st Female Artist to achieve it, & no Group has ever done so. 'BAD' (1987) He took 9 UK Singles off his 1987 'Bad' Album, between 1987 & 1989. 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You' - No.1, 'Bad' - No.3, 'The Way You Make Me Feel' - No.3 (All in 1987) 'Man In The Mirror' - No.21, 'Dirty Diana' - No.4, 'Another Part Of Me' - No.15, 'Smooth Criminal' - No.8 (All in 1988) 'Leave Me Alone' - No.2, 'Liberian Girl' - No.13 (Both in 1989) 'Man In The Mirror' finally became the 9th Top 20 Single off 'Bad', in 2009, when it reached No.2 NOTE - There was almost a 10th Single off 'Bad', in October 1989 - 'Speed Demon'. However, the plan was abandoned when the Promo Single for it, was not getting a good reception off USA DJ's. 'DANGEROUS' (1991) Off 'Dangerous' he had these 9 Hits:, 'Black Or White' - No.1 (1991) 'Remember The Time - No.3, 'In The Closet' - No.8, 'Who Is It' - No.10, 'Jam' - No.13, 'Heal The World - No.2 (All in 1992) 'Give In To Me' - No.2, 'Will You Be There' - No.9, 'Gone Too Soon' - No.33 (All in 1993) NOTE - He also reached No.14, (1992), with a Remix of 'Black Or White', but the Remix was not actually on the 'Dangerous' Album. September 13, 201014 yr Aren't Video Phone and Why Don't You Love Me from the deluxe version though? So Bad still owns that record. Lady Gaga will be there with her ninth single Dance in the Dark charting soon if you count The Fame Monster deluxe as one album. Edited September 13, 201014 yr by SKOB

Only WDYLM is from the deluxe version but that doesn't really matter much... Is DITD definitely being released? I thought Alejandro was to be her last single from The Fame [Monster]
September 13, 201014 yr Only WDYLM is from the deluxe version but that doesn't really matter much... Is DITD definitely being released? I thought Alejandro was to be her last single from The Fame [Monster] Don't know if there will be a proper release or video which is the key here..Her new album will drop next year so there's still room for one single. Plus Christmas is coming so DITD could help milk the rest out of the Monster era. Edited September 13, 201014 yr by SKOB
September 13, 201014 yr Michael Jackson has actually had 9 Hits off 1 Album on 2 occasions. I only looked at his Albums as far as 'Bad', as it never occured to me that he'd had 9 Hits off any other Albums. I now see that he had 9 Hits of 'Dangerous', as well. I've added that to my original Post. The OCC count 'The Fame Monster', (or 'The Fame Deluxe'), as being the same Album as 'The Fame'. They combine their Sales & Chart Positions. As such, any Singles off either of those Albums, will be said to be from the same Album - at least in the UK. Lady GaGa may not release any more Singles off 'The Fame'. We will see. If she does, she may fail to reach the Top 5 with that Single. I'm convinced that 'Alejandro' only got to No.7, (UK), due to her Album Sales holding it back. She will have sold even more Albums by the time another Single was lifted from it - and have even more chance of failing to have a Top 5 Hit. I realise that 'Lovegame' never even made the Top 10, but that was more down to many people not liking it much, than her Album Sales holding it back. Edited September 13, 201014 yr by zeus555
