Ergh. I cannot find the right words that express just how much I actually despise Coldplay and mainly Chris Martin. Vile man.

Kings of Leon used to be crap until their 'Only By The Night' era. That album is brilliant.

KOL are a great band-even before this era, obvs now nothing touches Sex On Fire and Use Somebody and are total rock classics in their own right, Im glad they did well, I thought Buzzjack would've hated them due to SOF sticking around for so long :P
Fix You remains my favourite song of all time

So right

A man (Chris Martin) might have some features I dislike but that song is just divine (and some other songs too)

Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band. Formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, the band currently consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jamie Cook (lead guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals), Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals) and John Ashton as a touring member (keyboard, guitar, backing vocals). Former members include Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Glyn Jones (lead vocals, guitar).

Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, released in early 2006, became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, surpassing Elastica's Elastica and remains the fastest-selling debut album for a band in the UK. Since then the band have released two more albums: Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007) and Humbug (2009). The band is currently in the studio, recording their fourth album, expected to be released in 2011.

Arctic Monkeys are heralded as one of the first acts to come to the public attention via the Internet (fan-based sites rather than from the band), with commentators suggesting they represented the possibility of a change in the way in which new bands are promoted and marketed

Arctic Monkeys are overrated in my opinion :drama:

Although "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" is a classic!

Whoop, my no.1 - Arctics are just bloody brilliant. Less so with the third album unfortunately, but musically, lyrically, vocally SUPERB. Glad to see Maroon 5 do well too, and my 12 year old self is happy for Steps!

Favourite Song - Bohemian Rhapsody

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1971, originally consisting of Freddie Mercury, (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (lead guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Queen's initial works were chiefly glam rock, heavy metal and progressive rock orientated ; however, with time, the band has incorporated diverse and innovative styles in their music, exploring the likes of vaudeville, electronic music and funk. The band digressed from using progressive themes in their music in the mid-1970s, with more conventional and radio-friendly works bringing them greater success.

Brian May and Roger Taylor had been playing together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury (then known by his birth name of Farrokh, or Freddie, Bulsara) was a fan of Smile, and encouraged them to experiment with more elaborate stage and recording techniques. Mercury himself joined the band shortly thereafter, changed the name of the band to 'Queen' and adopted his familiar stage name. John Deacon was recruited prior to recording their first album. Queen enjoyed success in the UK during the early 1970s, but it was the release of Sheer Heart Attack (1974) and A Night at the Opera (1975) that gained the band international success. The latter featured "Bohemian Rhapsody", which stayed at number one in the UK charts for nine weeks. In 1991 Mercury died of bronchopneumonia, a complication of AIDS, and Deacon retired in 1997. Since then May and Taylor have infrequently performed together, including a collaboration with Paul Rodgers under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers.

The band has released a total of 18 number one albums, 18 number one singles and 10 number one DVDs, and have sold over 300 million albums worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists. They have been honoured with seven Ivor Novello awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001

Oasis were an English rock band that formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as The Rain, the group was formed by Liam Gallagher (vocals and tambourine), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums, percussion), who were soon joined by Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar and vocals). They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six BRIT Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide. Also the band was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 for “Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group” after an unprecedented run of 22 successive Top 10 hits in the UK. The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the "Most Successful Act of the Last Decade" in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.

Its members were signed to independent record label Creation Records and afterwards released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994. The following year, the band recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with their new drummer Alan White in the midst of rivalry with Britpop peers Blur in the charts. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now, and although it became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history, the album's popularity tapered off quickly. The band lost members Paul McGuigan and Paul Arthurs as they went on to record and release Standing on the Shoulder of Giants in 2000 and were replaced by Gem Archer and Andy Bell who joined the group for the tour in support of Giants. The band found renewed success and popularity starting with 2005's Don't Believe the Truth through 2008's Dig Out Your Soul and their supporting tours.

In August 2009, Noel Gallagher announced his departure from the band after a backstage altercation with Liam before a festival appearance.Liam Gallagher stated that the remaining members of the band would continue to record music, but ruled out the possibility of continuing as Oasis in February 2010, instead forming a new band called Beady Eye.

ABBA was a Swedish pop music group formed in Stockholm in 1972, consisting of Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1972 to 1983.

ABBA gained international popularity employing what fans consider as catchy song hooks, simple lyrics[citation needed], sound effects (reverb, phasing) and a Wall of Sound achieved by overdubbing the female singers' voices in multiple harmonies. As their popularity grew, they were sought after to tour Europe, Australia, and North America, drawing crowds of fans.

Due in part to the fact that touring became a contentious issue, being particularly cumbersome for Fältskog, producer Stig Anderson became one of the very first to make promotional film clips which were the forerunner of today's music video to increase exposure to the group's music in addition to releasing studio albums to widespread commercial success.

During the band's existence, Fältskog and Ulvaeus were a married couple, as were Lyngstad and Andersson - although both couples later divorced. At the height of their popularity, both relationships began suffering strain that led ultimately to the collapse of first the Ulvaeus-Fältskog marriage (in 1979) and then of the Andersson-Lyngstad marriage in 1981. In the late 1970s and early 1980s these relationship changes began manifesting in the group's music, as they produced more introspective lyrics with different compositions.

ABBA remains a fixture of radio play lists and is one of the world's best-selling bands, having sold over 375 million records worldwide, making them the fourth best-selling popular music artists in the history of recorded music. They still sell two to three million records a year. ABBA was the first pop group from a non-English-speaking country to enjoy consistent success in the charts of English-speaking countries, including the UK, the US, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. As well as reaching the top of the charts in different countries like Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru among others, the band also released a compilation of their hit songs translated into Spanish.

After ABBA split, Andersson and Ulvaeus achieved success writing music for the stage while Lyngstad and Fältskog pursued individual solo careers with varying success. ABBA's music remained steadily popular until several films, notably Muriel's Wedding and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, revived interest in the group, spawning several tribute bands. In 1999, ABBA's music was adapted into the successful musical Mamma Mia! that toured worldwide and had a movie version released in 2008, becoming the highest grossing film in the UK at the time. The group was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 15 March 2010.

Tatu are truely amazing. LOVE THEM

And I was having an All Saints catch up session last night actually, listening to all their past hits! Coincidence

But yeah, I love them too!

Meh to the other three

Glad ABBA are this high, and Oasis too (although I'm shocked as this is Buzzjack). LMAO at T.A.T.U being this high!

Coldplay - average

KOL - ok

Arctic Monkeys - were ok for a bit

Queen - amazing

Oasis - rather good

t.A.T.u. - really good but 13, seriously?

All Saints - also good, but 12 is far too high imo

ABBA - Classic! shoulda been top 10!

'Meh' at Queen, Oasis and ABBA?!

Oh dear the males are coming in thick and fast now :(

Arctic Monkeys are great- they havent been around that long, but they really made their mark on indie music- their earliest stuff were both fun and brilliant at the same time

and the countdown has pretty much lost what little musical validity it had left now that Queen arent top 10- I think they are just second to the Beatles in the all time list, and I personally prefer them, they made some of the finest songs ever- the list is endless and were of course responsible for what is arguably the best song of all time- Bohemian Rhapsody- true legends of music

Oasis too- although I understand some may find them unlikeable because of the brothers and well, some found them to be Beatles-wannabes- but I thought they did some true classics - Wonderwall, Dont Look Back In Anger and Live Forever mainly- and were one of the finest British bands ever, I guess 14 is good for Buzzjack

T.a.t.u- All The Things She Said was good, and I personally liked All About Us- but that is it- big fat LOL at them finishing so high

All Saints are certainly one of the best girl groups ever, they kind of deserve their place- and they have done some truly brilliant pop songs as well

and Abba I thought stood a chance of top 10 as they have female lead vocalists- guess not and its a real shame that they arent as they are of course an amazing group they re-defined pop and made some classic songs and remain the best group to ever come out of Sweden imo

Muse FTW- Im so shocked but thrilled they made the top 10 :cheer:
