Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock/drum & bass band founded in 2002 in Perth by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul Harding. Harding is a veteran DJ while Swire and McGrillen were part of an acclaimed rock band known as Xygen, but after hearing Konflict's "Messiah" at a rave they were inspired into the drum and bass genre, in 2003 they relocated to the United Kingdom. While Hold Your Colour held true to this intent, they have since experimented with mixing rock influences back in, with the rock-heavy second album In Silico, and the third album, Immersion, being a mixture of both, together with more electronic influences. Their newer efforts incorporate styles from genres such as dubstep, heavy metal and electro house. Pendulum are now better known for their energetic live shows, with live band setup and advanced visual displays and incorporating their rock background with drum and bass.

Who the hell is Leanandro, cool name though  Glad those little $h!ts are out, top 100? Really? BTW, the male countdown is finished leaving Michael Jackson the top man, and Lady Gaga the top woman of 2010, who's the top group.

(Come on Destiny's Child)

hehe I kinda liked S Club Juniors (don't shoot me)

'Sundown' and 'Fool No More' are brilliant.

Take That really are fantastic! More now than they were back in the 90s imo. Also shocked at some of the other results. Buzzjack really does boggle my mind that people can consider talentless tramps like Girlisicious etc and others that have had one hit [cough The Wanted], superior to legendary bands like Blur, Guns N Roses etc.

This isn't about hits. This isn't about talent. It's about whose music people enjoy. I'm sorry. Gotta say it again.

S Club Juniors? dear me, they shouldnt even be top 100 - looking at the votes, I was worried they'd be higher- Im glad they arent too high (although having said that, I did like One Step Closer :( )

I really like Pendulum - their songs would sound excellent live and are also very good, even if they do all sound a bit similar :kink:

The band's debut album, Sigh No More, was released in the United Kingdom in October 2009, and February 2010 in the United States

Favourite Song - I want you back

http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu210/Triciaaaa_photo/NYSNC.jpg

N Sync (stylized as *NSYNC) was an American boy band.

Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1995 and launched in Germany by BMG Ariola Munich,[2] 'N Sync consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick and became the third highest selling boyband of all-time (behind the Backstreet Boys and the New Kids On The Block). After heavily publicized legal battles with their former manager Lou Pearlman and former record label Sony BMG, the group's second album No Strings Attached sold over one million copies in one day and 2.42 million copies in one week, giving it the highest first week album sales ever. In addition to a host of Grammy nominations, 'N Sync has performed at the Academy Awards, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Olympics, and sang or recorded with the likes of Elton John, Mandy Moore, Aerosmith, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears, Nelly, Michael Jackson, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and Gloria Estefan. The group also appeared as themselves on The Simpsons, in an episode entitled "New Kids on the Blecch", which aired on February 25, 2001. The band are among the highest selling musical acts of the first decade of the 21st century, and have emerged as one of the most acclaimed boy bands.

While 'N Sync announced a "temporary hiatus" in spring 2002, the band has not recorded new material since. The group's official website shut down in summer of 2006, and in 2007, Lance Bass confirmed that the group has "definitely broken up." In March 2010, the group's website was relaunched to keep fans updated on the various members' projects.

Heart is a rock band whose founding members came from Seattle, Washington, USA in the early 1970s.Going through several lineup changes, the only constant members of the group are sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.[10] The group rose to fame in the 1970s with their music being influenced by hard rock as well as folk music. After diminishing in popularity for a number of years, the band had a comeback in 1985, experiencing further successes with their power ballads and pop hits throughout the rest of the decade. By the mid-1990s, Heart left their 1980s sound and went back to their hard rock roots which they continue to play today. Over their four decade career, Heart has had chart successes with a variety of musical styles, ranging from hard rock and metal (Barracuda, If Looks Could Kill, Black on Black II), to folk rock (Dreamboat Annie, Dog and Butterfly), to power ballads (Alone, These Dreams, What About Love). With their latest release Red Velvet Car in August 2010, Heart made a return to their hard rock/acoustic roots of the late 70s.

To date, Heart has sold over 35 million albums worldwide. Heart was ranked #57 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock"

All great bands!

Love Mumford and Sons, they've have had a great start- and have produced a great, different sound- although there a bit too recent to be any higher so all's good

Vampire Weekend are pretty good- I like some of their songs

Biffy Clyro are good too- I've heard better bands tbh, but I still like their songs, a good band

and MCR are pretty amazing too- they did a good job making their genre mainstream- their earlier punk stuff is quite good, although Welcome To The Black Parade really turned them around and opened them to new audiences- it remains a classic of the 21st Century and the album is totally brilliant

edit: N'Sync? they were OK at the time I guess, but now seem so dated, Alone by Heart is really good, dont know anything else by them

Bloc Party are an English rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Russell Lissack (lead guitar), Gordon Moakes (bass guitar, synths, backing vocals, glockenspiel), and Matt Tong (drums, backing vocals). Their brand of music is said to have been drawn from such bands as Mogwai, The Cure, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, and in their more recent work, Radiohead.

The band was formed at the 1999 Reading Festival by Okereke and Lissack. They went through a variety of names before settling on Bloc Party in 2003. Moakes joined the band after answering an advert in NME magazine, while Tong was picked via an audition. Bloc Party got their break by giving BBC Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq and Franz Ferdinand's lead singer, Alex Kapranos, a copy of their demo "She's Hearing Voices".

In February 2005, the band released their debut album Silent Alarm. It was critically acclaimed and was named 'Indie Album of the Year' at the 2006 PLUG Awards and NME Album of the year which both honour indie music respectively. That year, the record was also certified platinum in the UK. The band built on this success in 2007 with the release of their second studio album, A Weekend in the City, which reached a peak of number two in the UK Albums Chart and number twelve in the Billboard 200. In August 2008, Bloc Party released their third studio record, Intimacy. The band are currently on hiatus as of 31 October 2009.
