That's what the BBC announced, so hopefully it's true. The event took place last night apparently, but there's no more info yet.

The show will be on BBC1 on the 16th of december, 8pm.

It's weird though cause she's doing Alan Carr's show on the 20th, and she's told to perform an accoustic verison of "Promise this".

Hopefully she is performing 'The Flood' on the Royal Variety then, it looks like that would be the only promotion it gets!

Don't think this has been posted yet:

Well it's definitely the best cover from this era so far, but that's not saying much!

It's up to #63 in the official charts this week ! It needs a major boost now.

Simple but yet stunning cover.

I just saw an advert for the Royal Variety performance, and it showed a little bit of Cheryl performing, it looked like 'The Flood' since there are no backing dancers and to me it seemed like she was singing the end of the chorus, 'the flooooood' part. :P
Love the cover. Cheryl is a natural beauty :)
Think she actually did parts live, sounded good.

Up to #34 on Itunes, she climbed over 40 places since she performed last night :cheer:

It proves it could be a hit if she was doing the right promotion and was getting good radio support. People who hear it seem to like it a lot.

Btw, not only it is up to B-list on Radio 1, but it's been added to Radio 2's B-list this week too ! :cheer:

She needs to get out there and do some more promotion, I don't see the RVP effect helping it climb enough for it to get near top 10/20. :( This really deserves to do well, it's probably my favourite Cheryl single, after 'Fight For This Love'.

The performance from the Royal Variety, if anybody missed it:

She will perform it on Alan Carr's show next monday, it will probably push it top 20 (hopefully), especially since she'll be the only act performing on it. Then some promo in the new year would make it a top 10 for its official release.

Would have been great if she had sang live.
