Posted September 16, 201014 yr Was announced suspended on 10 July 2010 Rumor has it Sam Mendez will direct the movie when it happens, latest news has Michael Sheen as Blofeld and Rachel Weiss as a bad girl :wub: Indian actress Freida Pinto (Bond Girl) all subject to change, Q and Miss Moneypenny will be introduced. Story revolves around drug smuggling in Afghanistan, shooting will begin Summer 2011 with a November 2012 release. Daniel Craig will be reprising his Bond role So far Judi Dench (M) and Jeffrey Hunter (Felix) are the only confirmed characters to return. The remaining Fleming titles yet to be used for films are THE HILDEBRAND RARITY, RISICO, THE PROPERTY OF A LADY and 007 IN NEW YORK the latter may be used as one of the fliming locations is New York. One of these may be the title, or they may use an all original title, ala the Brosnan Bond films.
September 16, 201014 yr That won't take much effort, though Casino Royale was nothing special either imo. Daniel Craig is just a terrible Bond, where theyve tried too hard to make it into an action movie that it's not Bond anymore.

September 16, 201014 yr Author so it's no longer suspended? i hope its an improvement on QoS. No longer suspended, they are basically trying to write the script with shooting next summer, those are the names that are flying about at the moment, they are not officially confirmed. It carries on where QoS left off. I hope its better QoS was a bit disappointment for me as a Bond movie.

September 16, 201014 yr I think you all misinterpreted what I was saying :heehee: Casino Royale was a very very good action film, but it was not a BOND film. It had that missing Bond element imo.

Not a bit of it.. It was closer in feel and mood to Flemings actual books than any of the Moores or Brosnans... And Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery, bar NONE... Fleming's Bond had a ruthlessness and toughness about him that Craig brings back to the fore after years of Moore and Brosnan turning him into a fukkin' joke... The Bourne films also showed up Bond for almost being surplus to requirement until Casino Royale came along It needs to be a better film than Quantum of Solace mind.... I'd've personally liked to have seen what Paul Greengrass could've done with Bond, but Sam Mendes is a good choice too....

Daniel Craig is fantastic in the role of Bond - this is coming from somebody whose previous favourite Bond was Brosnan, and they're worlds apart, but Craig's Bond is no less 'Bond' than any that's gone before. Casino Royale was one of the best films in the entire franchise. Quantum one of the worst, the problem being the set the bar SO high with Casino Royale (one of if not the very best Bond Girl to date, fantastic flawed villain, a great final twist) that QoS seemed so FLAT as a follow-up. Everything about it was so average and when expectations were so HIGH that was only compounded. I'm sure they can pull another great film out of the bag though. One dud (the first since the 80s) does not signal the end of a franchise.
September 17, 201014 yr I think i am one of the very few people who actually enjoyed QoS. Although i apparently watched an edited version of the film as they managed to squeeze it into an Aussie domestic flight, granted the flight was near on 2hr 30mins but once you take into account take off etc they had like 1hr 45 for the film. Still i rather enjoyed it
September 17, 201014 yr The problem with QoS was that it had no story, it just followed on from Casino Royal (which was BRILLIANT). Craig is fantastic as Bond, possibly my favourite bond. I think he suits the role really well. Looking forward the next film.
September 18, 201014 yr Author The problem with QoS, it just amalgamated of old Bond movies together, especially with the ending big explosions which was used in SWLM, Moonraker, Goldfinger (Gemma Atherton covered from head to toe in oil) it was just a rehash of old bond movies rolled into one.

Craig is my 2nd fave Bond after Timothy Dalton, Dalton gave Bond a ruthless and brutal edge to him after the cheesyness of Moore and it is ridiculous he wasn't retained, Craig is more of a throwback to Dalton's Bond and definitely infinitely better than Moore, Brosnan etc even if my fave Bond film is Live And Let Die

That was the point. They said they'd be paying tribute to a few old Bond movies in the promo leading up to it IIRC... Anyway, as one of the few people who actually liked Quantum of Solace and thought the storyline was pretty good, I'm looking forward to this.
