16. The Wonder Villains 'Space Jam' sent by Brett-Butler. Brett had a decent finish last time and the Wonder Villains are doing a bit better this time around. I thought it was great, although the vocals at the start are a bit to US Pop for my liking.

With only 10 points awarded to songs in the top 10 it gives the rest a chance to catch up a bit. Museum of Bellas Artes move from 11th to 5th with 12 points, and Momus and Lake Heartbeat close in on the top 10. A 5 for Aloe Blacc puts a bit more distance between the top 3 and the rest. Brett's votes have pushed his own song down 3 places to 12th.

I thought Brett B might have liked Kent.

The top 3 remain the same but Wild Nothing increase their lead at the top to 7 points. 3rd - 6th is now seperated by just 2 points as Peter Murphy, Stars and Future Islands all score well. After great starts Sonoio and Band of Skulls are starting to fall backwards as they reach their lowest positions yet (8th and 10th). A 10 for Animal Collective sees 'Leaf House' clmib into the top 20, the bottom few are drifting further away now.

 

The Momus track really struck me as odd and different, not far from peaking inside the top 10.

Peter Murphy used to be a member of Bauhaus who had some modest success in the late 70s / early 80s. I actually didn't know the song until a few weeks ago. I was listening to a Kitchens of Distinction mix on youtube and some of his songs were included. So I got one of his albums and this song seemed the obvious choice.

Whatever. That Kent track is just too bland. And I've nothing against foreign language tracks.

18. Ghost Society 'Under the Sun' sent by Freeze. Another debutant in Freeze now, Ghost Society is doing ok so far.

A 15 for Valravn pushes it further towards the top 10. Stars reach the top 3 for the first time as they climb to 2nd, just 5 points off the leading song. Band of Skulls fall becomes more drastic as three songs overtake it to push it down to 13th, inlcuding Lake Heartbeat which is now very close to the top 5. 8 points for Telegraphs puts it closer to the top 20 and 5 for Kent moves it out of the bottom 5, being replaced by Viola.

19. Sonoio 'Not Worth Remembering' sent by Chris. It started so well for Chris but after an excellent start Sonoio is now at the bottom of the top 10. Chris will probably just be hoping it doesn't fall much further.

With the contest still incredibly close, a 15 for Peter Murphy means 'All Night Long' climbs from 5th to 1st taking back the place Wild Nothing claimed off it 6 votes ago. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Animal Collective both make decent climbs, the latter into the top half. Telegraphs move into the top 20 and 8 points for Veronica Falls puts it closer to the top 20.
